My An - Cao Lanh Expressway through Dong Thap is eligible to start construction on July 26

On July 22, My Thuan Project Management Board reported to the Ministry of Construction on the conditions for starting the My An - Cao Lanh Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1.

According to the report, up to now, the site clearance work of the My An - Cao Lanh expressway project phase 1 has reached over 95%, basically meeting the requirements for construction of the main items of the project.

Regarding construction permits, on July 11, 2025, the Department of Construction of Dong Thap province granted a construction license to contractor Dongbu (Korea).

On July 21, My Thuan Project Management Board signed contract package No. 7 - construction of My An - Cao Lanh expressway with the joint venture of Dongbu Corporation (Korea) and VNCN E&C Construction and Engineering Investment Joint Stock Company (Vietnam).

The leaders of My Thuan Project Management Board assessed that with the main conditions having been prepared, the Project is eligible to start construction on July 26. Therefore, the Board proposed that the Ministry of Construction unify the plan to implement the next tasks.

The My An - Cao Lanh Expressway Project Phase 1, passing through Dong Thap province with a length of nearly 27 km, is part of the North - South Expressway in the West.

The project has a total investment of 6,127 billion VND, of which 4,462 billion VND is from ODA loans from the Korean Government , and 1,665 billion VND is domestic counterpart capital.

For site clearance, the locality will clear the site once according to the 6-lane planning, however in phase 1 only 4 lanes will be invested in advance.

Previously, at the contract signing ceremony for package 7 with the Dongbu - VNCN E&C (Vietnam) joint venture on July 21, Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board said that the project has currently cleared about 95% of the land, and construction materials such as sand and stone have also been prepared.

Therefore, Mr. Thi suggested that contractors use modern equipment and techniques to build projects to bring efficiency, trying to reach about 10 - 15% of construction value by the end of the year, ensuring disbursement progress.
