On the morning of August 29, at the fishing port and storm shelter area of Cua Hoi - Xuan Pho in Dan Hai commune ( Ha Tinh province), there were 45 fishing boats anchored. Most of these near-shore fishing boats belong to local people.
Before storm No. 5 made landfall, the fishing port and storm shelter area of Cua Hoi – Xuan Pho had 98 boats of fishermen from inside and outside the province taking shelter from the storm. After the storm, boats of fishermen from other provinces moved back to their localities.
Lieutenant Colonel Doan Duc Long - Head of Lach Ken Border Guard Station (Ha Tinh Border Guard Command) said: At this time, in the sea area southeast of Hoang Sa special zone, there is a tropical depression moving into the East Sea. The tropical depression is forecast to strengthen into a storm, affecting the mainland area from Nghe An province to Hue city.
Due to the influence of the tropical depression that is likely to strengthen into a storm, there will be strong winds and big waves in the sea. Particularly in the sea of Ha Tinh, from the night of August 29, there will be strong thunderstorms, winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, the area near the storm's center will be strong at level 8, gusting to level 10; waves 2-5m high, rough seas. Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds, and big waves.

To proactively respond to storms, Lach Ken Border Guard Station coordinated with the Fishing Port Management Board and related units to inform ship owners, boats and fishermen about the complicated weather at sea in the coming days and advised people not to go fishing for long periods to ensure safety.
“The fishermen’s boats mainly fish close to shore, going back and forth during the day, so there is not much to worry about. However, to ensure safety, the unit informs and warns fishermen about the risk of dangerous weather at sea,” Lieutenant Colonel Doan Duc Long informed.
Meanwhile, at the Cua Sot fishing port and storm shelter area, there are currently 82 fishing boats anchored. After storm No. 5, only small-capacity fishing boats of local fishermen have gone out to sea, while large-capacity boats are still anchored at the shelter.
Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Ha - Political Commissar of Cua Sot Border Guard Station said: "Given the complicated developments at sea in the coming days, there is a high risk of affecting the activities of ships and boats operating at sea, the unit will strictly manage the departure of fishermen."

It is noted that, in addition to the fishing port and storm shelter areas of Cua Hoi - Xuan Pho, Cua Sot, at this time, in the areas of Cua Nhuong and Cua Khau - Ky Ha, after storm No. 5, basically offshore fishing boats of fishermen have not yet set sail but are anchored at the shelter.
Mr. Bui Tuan Son - Director of the Management Board of Fishing Ports and Fishing Boat Shelters in Ha Tinh province said: Large-capacity ships and boats that took shelter from storm No. 5 are still in ports and anchorages. The unit has coordinated with the Border Guard and the Subcommittee on Fisheries Safety at Sea to inform about the tropical depression that is likely to strengthen into a storm and the complicated weather at sea, and at the same time advised fishermen not to go to sea to avoid unfortunate incidents that may occur at sea.
According to Mr. Son, the unit is still closely monitoring the tropical depression to promptly provide information, warnings, and strictly manage ships.
