These are truly meaningful and unique activities to celebrate the national festival - the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.
The heat of political art programs
On the evening of August 9, a special political art program hosted by the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense , in coordination with the Hanoi Party Committee, Hue Party Committee, and Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, titled "Under the Glorious Flag", touched the hearts of millions of Vietnamese people.
The highlight of the program is connecting 3 regions of the country, from the main bridge point of the historic Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi Capital with 2 bridges of Ngo Mon Square in Hue City and Ho Chi Minh City Creative Park. In addition to tens of thousands of viewers watching live at the bridges, the program is also broadcast live on TV channels and digital platforms, bringing the national pride of millions of Vietnamese people to a higher level than ever with art performances performed by famous artists, elaborately staged, with modern and eye-catching sound and light.

The most touching and sacred part of the “Under the Glorious Flag” program was the flag-raising ceremony held at the historic Ba Dinh Square, where people across the country heard Uncle Ho’s voice reading the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The performances: Lullaby of the Country, Fire Echoing the Capital, Footprints in the Front, Party Flag… were truly an immortal epic of patriotism, stirring in the hearts of the audience pride in the glorious, indomitable history, determined to sacrifice everything to regain independence and freedom…
Then, on the evening of August 10, more than 50,000 spectators "dyed red" My Dinh National Stadium (Hanoi) when participating in the program Fatherland in the Heart; along with hundreds of thousands of livestream views on television and social networking platforms. This special political art program organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and Hanoi People's Committee has a smooth coordination between veteran artists and young artists... bringing viewers a special musical feast, connecting tradition with modernity, interweaving the past - present and future. The program opened with the National Anthem - Tien Quan Ca performed by a group of soldiers and children with more than 50,000 spectators at the national stadium solemnly singing in a space combining lighting and modern, eye-catching stage design.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Fatherland in the Heart Program, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department LE QUOC MINH emphasized: "Tonight's program in the capital is not only a simple art program, but also a symphony of patriotism combining music, stage performances, complex art with the depth of history and inspiration of the times, and community emotions".
The program's 3 chapters include: The Shape of the Country, Proud Melody, and Fatherland in the Heart, taking the audience through many emotional levels, recreating 80 years of Vietnam's history. In particular, the audience was captivated by the opening of chapter 2 with the performance of the Vietnam People's Army, including 68 soldiers who represented the Vietnam People's Army, reenacting the scene of marching on Red Square (Moscow, Russia) in the parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, to the background music Marching under the military flag, with the eloquent and emotional voice of People's Artist Le Chuc.
Directly immersing myself in the joyful atmosphere of the "national concert" Fatherland in the heart, Ms. NGUYEN THI XUAN (living in Hanoi) shared: "When I heard about the event, I arranged my work to line up to receive tickets. Although I knew the atmosphere at the "national concert" was very explosive, when I immersed myself in the "sea of people" singing the heroic songs of the country, I felt the sacredness and was very moved. The event helped me and thousands of other young people to foster national pride and better understand the journey of the country over the past 80 years". Photo: NVCC |
Contributing to this joyful atmosphere were the “V Concert - Radiant Vietnam” at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Hanoi) taking place on the evening of August 9 and the music event “V Fest - Radiant Youth” held at the Vietnam Exhibition Center on the evening of August 10. This is a series of special art events by Vietnam Television towards the Exhibition “80 Years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness”. The artists performed with all their might, supported by a sound and lighting system equipped with modern technology, along with tens of thousands of live viewers cheering enthusiastically, stirring up the space, making the program more exciting and vibrant.
Millions of people share one desire
Music is the language of the soul, connecting generations, an effective way to tell the story of the country in a touching and profound way. During the weekends of August and early September 2025, many grand art programs have been and will be held, increasing the excitement and joy of welcoming the great festival among all classes of people.
In the age of technology, not only local people - where the event is held - can watch, but people at home and abroad can also immerse themselves in the program because it is broadcast live on TV channels and social networking platforms. Some programs have gone viral (trending) on foreign social networking sites, attracting international online communities to follow, contributing to spreading the spirit and culture of Vietnam. A notable point is that on social networking platforms, keywords about political art programs, as well as songs about national pride, performed by famous artists recently often rank in the top group of trending keywords.
In Dong Nai, enjoying programs through social media platforms, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Kham (working in Tam Hiep ward) said: “Young people often call political art programs “national concerts”. Some people do not agree with using this term, but in my opinion, this term shows the closeness of political art programs to young people, not all revolutionary music is dry and difficult to access, but it touches the hearts of young people”.
According to Mr. Kham, the recent "national concerts" show the grandeur, explosion, scale, and level of investment of these programs, and at the same time show the spread as well as the great potential, a positive signal of the cultural and entertainment industry in Vietnam.
