Recently, a video appeared on social media that is said to be Miss Bui Quynh Hoa inhaling laughing gas with a group of friends. The video shows a close-up of the new beauty queen's face, along with her sayings like "Hoa has used up a balloon but I haven't seen her smile yet", "Oh my, I've used up all the balloons but my grandparents still have some left".

Although the owner has not responded to the video, many viewers expressed their outrage at the new beauty queen's bad image and statements. On the evening of October 4, the head of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 organizing committee - Ms. Thuy Nga said that she was verifying the information and committed to strictly handling the incident if it was true.

" Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 is a contest that promotes feminism and compassion, so we do not tolerate any wrongdoing, if any," Ms. Nga affirmed.

Laughing balloons or “funky balls” are balloons filled with N2O gas. When inhaled, they cause immediate effects such as excitement, hallucinations, reduced vision, hearing, and loss of control for a short time. Using high doses can cause loss of consciousness, arrhythmia, hypotension, convulsions, and tremors...

MC Phuong Mai - a member of the jury of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 final round also expressed her apology for the wrong assessments in the final night. She wrote on her personal page:

“The judges worked responsibly and impartially, and each member of the jury was invited to judge the rounds related to each contestant's stage performance skills.

The jury members had no information about the contestants' matters outside the scope of the competition. The scandals after the final night have really affected the judges' reputation, I am extremely sorry."

After being crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 on the evening of September 29, Miss Bui Quynh Hoa was also caught up in rumors that she knew the questions for the final round of the behavioral round in advance. She denied this, affirming that she was completely honest with the contest, with the audience, and with those who love and support her.

"I am just like all the other contestants, yearning to have this noble title. I am not the only choice, because there are 17 beautiful and talented girls who are conquering the dream of Miss Universe Vietnam," Quynh Hoa shared.

However, many viewers expressed dissatisfaction with the title of the new beauty queen. On October 3, on its official website, JKN - the governing body of the Miss Universe Organization - said that it would investigate the transparency and honesty of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 in response to audience concerns about the results.

Regarding this incident, Ms. Thuy Nga said she is actively coordinating with the Miss Universe organization to clarify the matter.
