The AVC Nations Cup 2025 (formerly known as the AVC Challenge Cup) is organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) in coordination with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) from June 7 to 14 in Hanoi .

The tournament is not only an opportunity for teams to compete and accumulate points, but also an important stepping stone to prepare for major tournaments such as the Asian Championship or FIVB Challenger Cup.

At the tournament on home ground, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team played impressively. In the opening match, we defeated Hong Kong (China) with a score of 3-0.

In the second match last night, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students did not encounter too many difficulties to continue to win all 3 sets against Taiwan (China).

This victory helped the team gain 6.17 more points, thereby rising to 30th place, the highest ranking in the history of Vietnamese women's volleyball on the rankings of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

In Asia, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is currently ranked 4th, just behind the giants Japan (5th in the world), China (6th) and Thailand (14th).

This is a strong step forward for Vietnamese women's volleyball, the result of thorough investment, clear strategy and stable performance over the past two years.

At the regional and continental levels, the team has made its mark with two consecutive championships at the AVC Challenge Cup (2023, 2024), reaching the top 4 of the 2023 Asian Championship, top 4 of the 19th Asiad, and the bronze medal at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024 - a tournament that brings together strong teams at the world level.

Entering the world top 30 for the first time is not only a source of pride but also opens up great hope for Vietnamese women's volleyball on the journey to reach the international arena.

This ranking can still continue to improve if the team maintains its form, goes deep in this year's AVC Nations Cup and successfully defends the championship.
