On June 21 and 22, the VietnamEducation Publishing House (NXBGDVN) coordinated with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Ken to successfully organize a training course to improve the capacity of teaching Vietnamese for overseas Vietnamese teachers in Northeast Thailand.

The program has the participation of 80 overseas Vietnamese teachers who are directly teaching Vietnamese in many northeastern provinces of Thailand along with many other domestic education experts, cultural and language managers, representatives of Vietnamese associations in Thailand, Japan, and Korea.
Affirming the special role of Vietnamese language for the Vietnamese community abroad , Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that language is the sacred asset of the nation. If culture is the light that guides the way, then Vietnamese is the flame that lights up the spirit of patriotism, connecting overseas Vietnamese with their homeland and with the roots of Vietnamese culture. He recalled historical milestones , Nearly 100 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh opened the first Vietnamese language class for overseas Vietnamese in Udon Thani. Since then, many generations of Vietnamese people in Thailand have preserved and passed down the Vietnamese language like a "sacred flame". light up ardent patriotism for future generations …

"The two days of training were not long, but they were filled with the love and responsibility of the country towards our compatriots far from the Fatherland . It was also these courses that helped nurture and "spread the flame of Vietnamese language to young generations of overseas Vietnamese, who, although born abroad, are always attached to their national roots" - Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Member of the Board of Members, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Education Publishing House, affirmed that Vietnamese is the source of culture, the bond that connects the Vietnamese community living abroad with the national origin. Professional training for teachers is the most sustainable way to preserve and spread Vietnamese in foreign lands.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tung also emphasized the commitment of NXBGDVN: "We will continue to research, accompany, and provide long-term support to overseas teachers with the desire to contribute to building a sustainable, united overseas Vietnamese community, imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity."
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Mai - Deputy Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs - said that in August 2022, the Prime Minister approved and assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to preside over the implementation of the Project "Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the Vietnamese Community Abroad", deciding to take September 8 every year as Vietnamese Language Honor Day.
"This training course is one of the specific and practical activities to implement the Project. We highly appreciate the initiative and enthusiasm of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Ken (Thailand) and the Vietnam Education Publishing House in not only providing quality professional programs, but also truly accompanying the community throughout the process of implementing the task of preserving the Vietnamese language" - Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Mai affirmed.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Lan Trung, President of the Vietnam Linguistics Association, Vice President and General Secretary of the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese, stated that in many years of working with the Vietnamese community abroad, he realized a very clear and urgent need from teachers who are teaching Vietnamese: That is, to be equipped with a more complete system of knowledge about Vietnamese, to be updated with teaching methods and pedagogical skills, suitable for a multilingual and multicultural environment.
Associate Professor Nguyen Lan Trung highly appreciated the careful preparation of the Vietnam Education Publishing House, especially the integration of language and cultural elements with technological tools, such as electronic textbooks and Vietnamese language teaching television programs. This is the right direction, because it both approaches technology, practices language and spreads national cultural identity."
The lectures in the training course are conducted by a team of experienced lecturers. During the 2 days, students have the opportunity to directly exchange, practice on-site and connect with a professional support network after the training course ends. Many overseas teachers were moved to share that this is a valuable opportunity for teachers to be both inspired and equipped with in-depth knowledge that they have never had the opportunity to access before.
