(Chinhphu.vn) – On June 26, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, Head of Steering Group No. 4 of the Government Party Committee chaired a meeting and gave opinions on the preparations for the Party Congress of Vietnam National Shipping Lines ( VIMC ).
The organization of the congress was carried out on schedule, ensuring full content, procedures and principles according to Party regulations. Of which, 1 party organization held a model congress, which was the Party Committee of VIMC Shipping Company, and 1 party organization conducted a pilot direct election of the Secretary at the Congress, which was the Party Committee of Maritime Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company.
The VIMC Party Congress is scheduled to be held from July 9-10, 2025 with 199 official delegates.
At the meeting, members of Group 4 commented on documents, reports, personnel plans, etc.
Opinions say that VIMC's operations are greatly influenced by the world situation, therefore, VIMC needs to analyze and evaluate more specifically the international context such as geopolitical conflicts, digital economic development, green economy. From there, the determination of goals and targets will be closer. In the past, VIMC has achieved many positive results, therefore, it is necessary to deepen its lessons learned, solutions on building a strong and breakthrough Party organization, creating a modern logistics ecosystem; on promoting international cooperation...
Appreciating the preparation work of VIMC, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long asked VIMC to absorb opinions to complete reports and documents.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said that VIMC's political report needs to be made more concise, removing qualitative words.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that VIMC's production and business results in the 2020-2025 period were quite high. There were times when they increased sharply, such as in 2020-2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. For businesses, business results are very important, so VIMC needs to delve deeper into this content and clarify the reasons why this result was achieved. "What lessons can be drawn from this? This is not only meaningful for VIMC but also for other businesses. This needs to be further explored," the Deputy Prime Minister requested.
Meanwhile, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, the production and business targets for the 2025-2030 period are more modest. VIMC needs to make more efforts and strive to achieve higher targets to contribute to the country's 8% growth in 2025 and double digits in the following period. Of course, this should not be "foolishly optimistic" but must have a basis, the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
Agreeing on the time to hold the Congress, the Deputy Prime Minister said that VIMC must speed up the preparation and completion of reports, documents and projects.
