Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and the People's Council, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Campaign emphasized that the Campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and the People's Council is a meaningful activity, part of a series of events to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the First General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam - an important historical milestone, marking a great turning point in the cause of building and developing the country in general, and building a socialist rule-of-law state in particular.

The campaign aims to select outstanding musical works, deeply depicting the sacred role and mission of the National Assembly and People's Council in the cause of national liberation, national defense, national construction and development, creating a solid foundation for our country to enter a new era - "The era of national prosperity and prosperity"; at the same time, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of information and propaganda work on the activities of elected bodies.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that under the attention and close direction of the National Assembly leaders, the close coordination between the National Assembly Office, the Vietnam Musicians Association and relevant agencies, the contest has been implemented methodically and effectively. Many practical activities have been carried out; information and propaganda work on the purpose, requirements and significance of the campaign has been actively organized to attract a large number of professional and non-professional musicians to participate. This is the second time the campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly has been successfully organized, following the success of the campaign in 2015 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong said that composing about elected bodies is a challenge, requiring deep understanding and a talented pen. However, the brilliant golden pages of history of 80 years of the Vietnamese National Assembly, along with the strong and vibrant innovations in the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils in recent times, especially the trust and great expectations of the People, have become a rich source of inspiration for musicians to create beautiful melodies and heroic songs about the National Assembly and People's Councils.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that after more than 10 months of launching (from February 27, 2024 to December 10, 2024), the Organizing Committee has received 672 passionate works from nearly 400 musicians from all over the country. This number shows the deep interest of artists in particular and the entire people in general in the activities of elected agencies. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong emphasized that this is also a campaign that has received a large number of participating works and is rich in genres compared to other songwriting campaigns in the past.

The Judging Council, consisting of famous and prestigious musicians, worked impartially and objectively through two preliminary and final rounds to select 33 excellent works for the Organizing Committee to consider awarding prizes. "The works not only adhere to the theme but are also diverse in musical style with richly visual lyrics, deeply demonstrating the role of the National Assembly and People's Councils in the cause of building a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people, for the people. The majestic and emotional melodies reflect the pride and trust of the people in the Vietnamese National Assembly and its elected representatives," emphasized Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong highly appreciated the efforts of the National Assembly Office and the Vietnam Musicians Association in proactively coordinating closely with relevant agencies and units to successfully organize the Campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and the People's Council. In particular, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly appreciated the spirit of serious artistic work, responsibility and high determination of many artists across the country who actively participated in responding and composing good and valuable works about the National Assembly and the People's Council.

At the ceremony, Major General, Musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, announced the Decision to recognize the award of the Campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and People's Councils to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the First General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) for 33 excellent works of authors and groups of authors, including: 5 works of B Prize, 9 works of C Prize, 19 works of Encouragement Prize.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam and Comrade Lai Xuan Mon, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission for Mass Mobilization presented cups and certificates to the authors and groups of authors who won the Encouragement Prize.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam and Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh also presented trophies and certificates to the authors and groups of authors who won the Encouragement Prize.
For the C Prize, Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh - Deputy Head of the Standing Steering Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the Vietnamese National Assembly and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha awarded the Cup and Certificate to 9 authors and groups of authors who won the C Prize.
In particular, for the B Prize, Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man - Head of the Steering Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and the People's Council awarded trophies and certificates to 5 authors and groups of authors who won the B Prize.
According to the Organizing Committee, the Campaign to compose songs about the National Assembly and People's Council aims to foster patriotism, national pride, self-respect, and the spirit of great national unity in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, meeting the requirements of the new situation, contributing to building the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a State of the People, by the People, for the People.
This is also an opportunity to spread the image of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the era of national growth - a resilient, innovative and deeply integrated nation with the world, affirming the position, mettle and intelligence of Vietnam in the international arena.
