79 public cars at district level will be delivered to communes.

Implementing the policy of arranging administrative units with a two-level local government model (provincial and communal levels), Long An province has reviewed and developed a plan for using public assets, including public cars, to ensure effective, economical and proper use.

After the district-level activities end, 79 public cars from these units in Long An province will be allocated to the communes to serve the work.

According to statistics, the province currently has 200 public cars. Of these, the provincial level is managing 121 cars, including 3 cars serving the positions of Provincial Party Secretary, Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 96 cars serving general work and 22 specialized cars (excluding specialized cars for the health sector).

The district currently manages 79 vehicles, including 64 vehicles for general use and 15 specialized vehicles.

To suit the new organizational model, the plan proposed by the province is that provincial agencies, organizations and units continue to manage and use the existing number of cars.

For the number of vehicles at the district level, after this level is dissolved, they will be allocated to the commune level to serve professional and technical work at the grassroots level.

Along with that, when the Government issues new regulations on standards and norms for car use (replacing Decree No. 72/2023/ND-CP, dated September 26, 2023), the Provincial Department of Finance will rebuild standards and norms for car use in the province; at the same time, propose a roadmap for purchasing and transferring vehicles according to current regulations./.
