On the morning of June 28, gasoline prices closed the weekend session slightly higher, Brent crude oil was almost flat, up 0.1% to 67.77 USD/barrel; WTI crude oil increased 0.28 USD/barrel, equivalent to 0.4%, to 65.52 USD/barrel.
According to Reuters, oil prices edged up slightly in the final trading session of the week, recovering from a mid-session decline due to information that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC +) is expected to increase oil production in August. Accordingly, OPEC + said the group will increase oil production by 411,000 barrels/day in August, following a similar production increase plan in July.
The news of OPEC's plan to increase production was released and oil prices immediately plummeted. For the whole week, world oil prices still fell about 12% - the sharpest decline since March 2023.

During the 12-day conflict that began on June 13, when Israel attacked Iran's nuclear facilities, Brent crude oil prices soared above $80 a barrel and plunged to $67 a barrel when US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire. Analysts on Reuters said that the market has almost completely erased geopolitical risks from last week, returning to the trend of adjusting according to basic supply and demand factors.
However, analysts note that oil prices may be adding a "demand premium" to their expectations, which will cause them to rise slightly again. Data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) just released shows that crude oil and fuel inventories in the US have decreased as refining activities and fuel demand in the country have both increased.
Domestically, on the morning of June 28, the common retail prices of gasoline on the market were as follows: E5 RON92 gasoline is no higher than VND20,911/liter; RON95-III gasoline is no higher than VND21,507/liter; 0.05S diesel is no higher than VND19,707/liter; kerosene is no higher than VND19,417/liter; 180CST 3.5S fuel oil is no higher than VND17,269/kg.
The domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of June 26. In this adjustment, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by VND280/liter, RON95-III gasoline increased by VND263/liter, diesel increased by VND551/liter, and kerosene increased by VND494/liter. In particular, fuel oil decreased by VND374/kg in this period./.
