At the meeting, delegates discussed and agreed to sign a memorandum of professional cooperation between the Central Geriatric Hospital and Lao Cai Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital, focusing on the following contents: supporting the establishment and implementation of the Geriatric Department; Elderly Health Care Center, training, coaching and transferring specialized Geriatric techniques; rotating staff to provide professional support on Geriatrics for Lao Cai Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital.
Along with that, the Central Geriatric Hospital will also support and coordinate the organization of scientific research activities, international cooperation, creating conditions for medical staff of Lao Cai Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital to participate in conferences, seminars, national and international forums on hospital management, scientific research and updating medical knowledge.
According to a report from Lao Cai Rehabilitation Hospital, in recent years the rate of elderly people coming for medical examination and treatment has increased, mainly for diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, Parkinson's, dementia, stroke, etc.
Based on practical needs, Lao Cai Rehabilitation Hospital plans to establish a Geriatrics Department and a Center for Elderly Health Care in the near future.
This working trip of Lao Cai Health Department aims to visit and learn about the operating model of the Central Geriatric Hospital, thereby further improving the quality of examination, care and treatment for the elderly in the province.
