Nhan Dan Newspaper provides disaster relief support to Lao Cai province

(CLO) On November 19, the working delegation led by comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association presented Lao Cai province with 68,000 trees to help overcome the consequences of storm Yagi.


Speaking at the event, comrade Le Quoc Minh said that storm No. 3 (Yagi) had severely affected 26 provinces and cities in the North, including Lao Cai. In the spirit of mutual love and support, Nhan Dan Newspaper and its partners including: Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank SeABank, SeAGreen Foundation and BRG Group decided to donate 68,000 trees worth 1 billion VND to Lao Cai province to join hands with the locality to overcome the consequences of Yagi storm; aiming for sustainable and long-term development.

It is expected that all the above trees will be supported to households affected by the storm circulation in Bao Yen and Bac Ha districts. The newly planted production forest area is about 18.6 hectares.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh added: In recent years, in addition to professional activities, Nhan Dan Newspaper has always focused on charity activities, thereby promoting social responsibility and responsibility to the community.

Typically, right after storm No. 3 passed, responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the leaders of Nhan Dan Newspaper proactively launched a fundraising campaign to support people affected by storms and floods.

Then, in early October, Nhan Dan Newspaper also organized a concert with the participation of the world famous band Bond. All the ticket sales of the event were donated to support people in the provinces affected by storms and floods.

Speaking at the reception, comrade Dang Xuan Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, respectfully thanked Nhan Dan Newspaper for its practical and meaningful cooperation and contribution to support people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Affirming that the recent natural disaster has caused extremely serious consequences, especially human losses in Lao Cai province, comrade Dang Xuan Phong said: Currently, the locality is still urgently carrying out recovery work.

Comrade Dang Xuan Phong also emphasized that all donations and support from units in general and Nhan Dan Newspaper in particular will be used for the right purposes and effectively, helping people in affected localities to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
