Nhan Dan Newspaper launches series of publications on 100-year history of revolutionary journalism

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), Nhan Dan Newspaper organized the book launch ceremony "Uncle Ho's articles on culture and journalism in Nhan Dan Newspaper", special publications and the Exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press at 71 Hang Trong, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi .

These are important events to commemorate and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh - the founder of Vietnam's Revolutionary Journalism, and generations of journalists who have contributed to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

This is also an opportunity to review the glorious journey of revolutionary journalism, from Thanh Nien newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc in 1925, through the stages of fighting for independence and national unification, to the period of innovation and integration. At the same time, it affirms the pioneering role of revolutionary journalism on the ideological-cultural front, orienting the development of modern journalism in the era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, spreading historical, cultural and professional values to the public, especially the younger generation.

The book “Uncle Ho’s Articles on Culture and Journalism in Nhan Dan Newspaper” is a collection of typical articles by President Ho Chi Minh published in Nhan Dan Newspaper, reflecting his ideology, ethics, style and vision on culture and journalism. This is a valuable document, not only helping readers understand Uncle Ho’s role in shaping revolutionary journalism but also serving as a guideline for generations of journalists.

According to Mr. Vu Trong Lam, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, Truth, with high requirements for both content and presentation of the book, the National Political Publishing House and Nhan Dan Newspaper have closely coordinated right from the stage of surveying, collecting, selecting, and systematizing documents on the basis of closely following the outline of the book.

Of the total of more than 1,200 articles by Uncle Ho published in Nhan Dan Newspaper, the book prints 300 typical articles, divided into three parts according to time frames: Articles in the years 1951-1954; Articles in the years 1955-1959; Articles in the years 1960-1969.

“Reading his articles, we deeply understand that he writes not only with the sharp thinking of a revolutionary, but also with a passionate patriotic heart, with the intelligence of a great culturalist. His language in his articles is not flashy, not formulaic, but imbued with intelligence, emotion and power. It is the language of revolution, of conscience, of steadfast belief in the revolutionary cause and the strength of the masses,” said Mr. Vu Trong Lam.

On this occasion, Nhan Dan Newspaper launched a special issue “Vietnamese Revolutionary Press - 100 years of accompanying, creating and serving the country” with the stature of a memorial work, a historical summary, a word of gratitude to the past, and at the same time a professional declaration for the future; a “golden page of history written in the language of journalism.”

The publication “100 years of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism: Imprints & Trends” reviews 100 typical milestones of revolutionary journalism, from institutional and ideological turning points to technology and organization; analyzes major transformations in the age of AI and digital media, from content production, newsroom organization to public outreach, with international data and domestic practical perspectives.

The special exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press took place from June 18 to June 21 at the headquarters of Nhan Dan Newspaper, displaying precious documents, images, and artifacts about the 100-year journey of revolutionary journalism, from the first newspapers such as Thanh Nien and Viet Nam Doc Lap to publications during the resistance war and renovation.

Along with the above events, Nhan Dan Newspaper has built a specialized electronic page https://baochicachmang.vn/ , synthesizing articles, images, videos and documents about 100 years of revolutionary journalism.

According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the publication of books, special publications and exhibitions on the occasion of June 21 is an important milestone and meaningful activity of Nhan Dan Newspaper in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
