Regarding environmental protection at the Bac Quang Nam Solid Waste Treatment Plant, Director of the Bac Quang Nam Solid Waste Treatment Plant Nguyen Van Trung said that after being granted an environmental license by the People's Committee of the former Quang Nam province, since the trial operation date in August 2022, the plant has received domestic waste in the districts of Dai Loc, Duy Xuyen and the old Dien Ban town (now about 15 wards and communes in Da Nang city).
But the factory has not yet operated the household waste incinerator and has persistently switched to waste recycling because the factory is near a residential area (700m away from the residential area).
The factory's chimney is cooling steam emitted from the process of heating nylon to create plastic pellets, one of the factory's recycled products.
“The white steam coming from the factory’s chimney is steam rising. We have also led this steam through a silo to condense and reduce the steam rising before releasing it into the environment. At the same time, we monitor environmental indicators periodically as well as independently to ensure environmental quality. The factory strictly complies with regulations and measures on environmental protection,” Mr. Nguyen Van Trung affirmed.
Every day, the factory receives an average of 220 tons of waste, part of which is sent through an automatic waste sorting system designed, manufactured and installed by the company to separate nylon and produce plastic pellets, then supply them to plastic product factories.
Most of the waste is composted for a period of time to decompose organic matter and squeeze out the water, then ground into small pieces to use as raw material to produce RDF fuel to supply cement and ceramic tile factories to burn instead of imported coal, aiming to fulfill Vietnam's "Net Zero" commitment.
Currently, the Bac Quang Nam solid waste treatment plant is recycling waste with a daily capacity of 50 tons of RDF fuel and 60-80 tons of plastic pellets per month to supply the market.

The market prospect for consuming RDF fuel from household waste is increasing to replace imported coal when many factories across the country pilot the allocation of emission quotas in the period of 2025-2026 to contribute to bringing net emissions to "0" (Net Zero), bringing great opportunities for the Bac Quang Nam Domestic Solid Waste (Waste) Treatment Plant to increase the capacity of recycling waste, making RDF fuel, aiming to not burn regular household waste at this plant.
In addition to negotiating with large factories to stably consume RDF fuel, Huy Hoang ECo Environmental Joint Stock Company is focusing on coordinating with relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities to carry out procedures on planning adjustment, investment... to increase production capacity, expand the scale of Bac Quang Nam Domestic Solid Waste Treatment Plant, aiming to recycle all domestic waste received at the plant, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's commitment to bring net emissions to "zero" (Net Zero).
