Together with the Vietnam Multidimensional Review Report 2020, the Vietnam Economic Reports for 2023 and 2025 are objective assessments with reference value for strategists, policy makers, researchers, and managers in both the public and private sectors of Vietnam as well as Vietnam's development partners. The report is a useful research document in summarizing and evaluating the implementation of the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025 and continuing to implement the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030.

The OECD Secretary General highly appreciated Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements with rapid economic growth, deep integration into the global economy, and important results in poverty reduction. OECD affirmed its support and will continue to assist Vietnam to achieve high growth targets in the coming time.

The OECD's Vietnam Economic Report 2025 focuses on analyzing Vietnam's macroeconomic fundamentals, the impact of international integration on attracting foreign investment and Vietnam's international trade, and the prospects for developing a low-carbon economy. The OECD also makes recommendations for Vietnam to continue moving towards a more integrated, transparent, sustainable and inclusive economy.

OECD's recommendations focus on the effective use of macroeconomic tools towards a balanced fiscal policy, expanding the tax base; continuing to strengthen the monetary system, credit policy, interest rates, and rational resource allocation; solutions to improve the efficiency of the social welfare system on wages, health care, education, and promote the systematization of the informal economic and labor sectors; promoting sustainable development through the emissions trading system, developing renewable energy; international lessons and some specific measures to improve the efficiency of attracting high-quality investment associated with improving domestic capacity, protecting intellectual property rights, improving human resource quality, etc.

The workshop also featured a discussion between representatives from the OECD, Chief Economist of ADB Vietnam, Deputy General Director of Deloitte Vietnam, and Director of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change in Vietnam. The speakers focused on discussing solutions to achieve double-digit economic growth, attract high-quality FDI linked to the domestic economic sector, institutional reform and good governance to enhance the capacity of the public sector./.
