Northern region temperature increases, some places over 36 degrees Celsius

Weather forecast for today (July 5), temperature in the North will increase slightly, highest in some places over 36 degrees Celsius, in which the mountainous areas of the North will have thunderstorms mainly in the morning and at night.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 5, the Northern Delta and Hoa Binh will be hot with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-36 degrees Celsius, with some places above 36 degrees Celsius.

Today and tonight, the Northwest and Viet Bac will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40 mm, some places over 60 mm (thunderstorms will occur mainly in the morning and at night).

In Ha Giang , the meteorological agency warned of a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes, especially in the districts of Hoang Su Phi, Vi Xuyen, Xin Man, Quang Binh, and Quan Ba.

On July 6, the North will be hot, with some places experiencing severe heat with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius, and the lowest relative humidity commonly ranging from 50-65%.

Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen is hot and extremely hot, some places are especially extremely hot with the highest temperature commonly 35-38 degrees Celsius, some places over 39 degrees Celsius, the lowest relative humidity commonly 45-60%.

The heat wave in the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen is likely to last for many days to come.

Forecasting the weather for the next 10 days, the meteorological agency said that the Central Highlands and the South will maintain the weather pattern of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, locally moderate rain and heavy rain.

From the night of July 6 to July 14, in the North, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. In mountainous areas, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms at night, with some areas having moderate to heavy rain. During the day, it will be hot and sunny, with some places experiencing intense heat.

In the Central region, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places in the late afternoon and at night, and sunny days. In particular, from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, it will be hot and extremely hot, with some places being especially extremely hot.

In hot weather, people need to be on guard against explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased electricity demand and the risk of forest fires. In addition, hot weather can also cause dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke in the human body when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.

The meteorological agency noted that the predicted temperature in the heat bulletin and the actual temperature felt outdoors can differ by 2-4 degrees Celsius, or even higher depending on the conditions of the surface such as concrete and asphalt.
