According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is developing multiple devices to launch in early 2026. Notable products include the iPhone 17e, MacBook Pro M5, and a series of new iPads.
Specifically, the iPad Air is about to be upgraded with a more powerful processor chip, similar to the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. Some devices are also planned to launch early next year, including computer monitors and smart home control screens.
“The new products are part of a strategy to maintain steady revenue after the iPhone 17 launch in September.
“After a pandemic-driven surge in early 2020s, Apple has seen sluggish demand over the past two years. Lengthening upgrade cycles for some products, including the iPad, have contributed to the decline,” Gurman said.
iPhone 17e and new iPad series
According to Bloomberg , Apple's early 2026 product launch will continue the upgrade cycle later this year. In the mobile device group, Apple is developing many new iPhone and iPad models.
First, the standard iPad line (priced at $ 350 ) is expected to be upgraded in March or April 2026. Apple is developing products with the code names J581 and J582. Based on rumors, the device will have the same appearance as the current version, the processing chip is improved from A16 to the newer line.
Next, the new generation iPad Air is being developed with the code names J707, J708, J737 and J738, expected to upgrade the processor chip from M3 to M4. If launched early next year, the device will have a fairly fast upgrade cycle, just one year after its predecessor.
According to Gurman, the iPad Air is Apple's mid-range tablet line, and sales of the product will continue to be good after Apple launches a 13-inch option in 2024.
“The combination of a large screen (equivalent to the iPad Pro) and a relatively affordable price (about 800 USD ) makes the iPad Air a popular product for ordinary users, businesses and schools,” the writer from Bloomberg emphasized.

As for the iPad Pro, the device is expected to launch earlier (October this year). The new version is likely to use the M5 chip, developed under the code names J817, J818, J820 and J821. The current generation was launched in May 2024.
Finally, the iPhone 17e has a similar appearance to its predecessor, with a processor upgraded from A18 to A19 to match the iPhone 17. Codenamed V159, the product is expected to launch early next year, matching the launch time of the iPhone 16e (February this year).
“The rapid upgrade from the iPhone 16e to the iPhone 17e suggests that Apple is shifting to a strategy of improving its low-cost iPhones annually. For comparison, the previous iPhone SE line was only upgraded twice after its initial launch in 2016,” Gurman added.
MacBook M5 and smart display
In addition to the iPhone and iPad, Apple is also planning to develop a new generation of MacBook Pro, codenamed J714 and J716 respectively. The device is expected to use the M5 processor chip, and will be released in early 2026 instead of later this year. That means the MacBook Pro upgrade cycle this time will be longer.
However, it is not possible to determine the specific launch time. Previously, MacBook Pro M1, M3 and M4 were introduced by Apple in October or November. The only exception is MacBook Pro M2, when the product appeared in January 2023.
After its launch, the MacBook Pro M5 will be the last generation to retain the current design. Starting with the M6 series, the company is expected to switch to a new design, using an OLED screen similar to the iPhone and iPad Pro.

The MacBook Air M5 is also expected to launch early next year, codenamed J813 and J815. According to Gurman, Apple is also planning to introduce an external display for Mac computers, the first since the launch of Studio Display in 2022. The product is being developed internally under the codename J427.
Besides the main products, Apple still maintains the development of smart home control screen, code name J490.
“The product was originally scheduled to launch in March this year, but was postponed indefinitely due to the delay in the launch of the new version of Siri. Now, the device may officially appear in the first half of next year,” Gurman added.
