AI is creating "pioneering business" models in Vietnam

(Dan Tri) - The "Job Trends 2025" report recently released by Microsoft records the emergence of a new organizational model thanks to the close combination of humans and AI.

The report was conducted by Microsoft with more than 31,000 knowledge workers in 31 countries, including Vietnam.

The results show that Vietnamese businesses are moving faster than the global average in implementing AI, especially in the form of “intelligent agents” - tools that can take on the role of a “digital employee”.

The report reveals the emergence of the “Frontier Firm” model, where human resources are equipped with on-demand intelligence, organized according to human-agent teams, and management forms.

At these businesses in Vietnam, the strong growth rate is double the global average.

One highlight of the report is the shift in organizational structure: from traditional hierarchies to flexible “workflows,” where humans and AI collaborate on specific tasks.

Microsoft said that 65% of Vietnamese businesses have applied AI to activities such as customer care, marketing, and product development, higher than the global average.

This leads to the emergence of a new role: the “agent boss,” a worker who is able to set up, monitor, and collaborate with AI agents to get work done.

In Vietnam, 48% of business leaders expect employees to take on this role within the next 5 years, higher than the global average of 36%.

At the same time, the report also points out a paradox: while 67% of leaders expect increased productivity, up to 84% of workers feel they lack the time and energy to complete their work. Applying AI properly is considered the key to closing this “expectation gap”.

Commenting on the transformation of technology businesses in the AI wave, Ms. Tram said that it is necessary to effectively exploit the capacity of artificial intelligence to develop competitive products, in order to flexibly adapt to the new context.
