Agribank offers preferential credit to serve the Mekong Delta rice project

(Dan Tri) - Agribank has implemented a preferential credit program to meet capital needs for the rice chain from production, purchasing to processing and consumption, contributing to realizing the goal of improving the quality and value of the national strategic industry.

The subjects of the program include individuals, farming households; cooperatives; cooperatives, production and consumption-linked enterprises; and service providers related to the implementation of the "Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice in the Mekong Delta".

With the bank's resources, Agribank supports interest rates for individuals, farming households, and cooperatives 1% lower per year than the normal lending interest rate floor for production and business activities and supports interest rates for cooperatives and enterprises 1-1.5% lower per year than the normal lending interest rate floor in VND.

Agribank provides credit to serve the rice industry chain with preferential interest rates lower than 1-1.5%/year.

In the past time, Agribank has surveyed the implementation of the linkage in production, processing and consumption of high-quality and low-emission rice products in the Mekong Delta, actively disbursed funds in a timely manner, ensured capital for production and business, and did not let capital shortages affect the progress of project implementation.

The implementation of linkages in the rice industry, providing special credit capital in the 1 million hectare rice project, will bring benefits to all participants, from farmers, suppliers to purchasing, processing and exporting enterprises... helping to reduce costs, improve quality, thereby increasing the competitiveness of the Vietnamese rice industry.

At the same time, on June 25, the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Agribank signed a coordination regulation to implement a loan program linking production, processing and consumption of high-quality and low-emission rice products in the Mekong Delta.

The signing of the coordination charter will strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Agribank, helping to mobilize maximum resources to successfully implement the project.

Agribank commits to focusing maximum resources on prioritizing the implementation of preferential credit programs, together with the banking industry, contributing to the successful and effective implementation of the rice linkage chain and the 1 million hectare project for high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation according to the Government's policy, bringing economic, social and environmental values, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's commitment to developing green and sustainable agriculture, enhancing Vietnam's reputation and position in the world.
