Trade promotion for cooperatives

DNVN - With the participation of nearly 250 booths from cooperative alliances of 20 provinces and cities, the 2025 Central Highlands - Central region cooperative trade promotion fair is not only a trade event, but also a boost for innovation, professionalization and integration of the collective economy in the new development stage.

On June 23 in Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh), the opening ceremony of the Trade Promotion Fair for Cooperatives in the Central Highlands - Central Region 2025 took place. The event was organized by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance in coordination with central ministries, branches and Binh Dinh province.

Taking place over 7 days (June 23-29), the fair has many exciting activities, such as: connecting trade between cooperatives, businesses, and partners; displaying and introducing products and goods; exchanging, buying and selling products and goods; cultural and artistic activities; conference on "business skills, trade promotion, digital transformation and application on the Post Office agricultural e-commerce platform".

The fair is part of the national trade promotion program for 2025 approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade . It brings together nearly 250 booths from the Cooperative Alliance of 20 provinces and cities; 50 enterprises and trade promotion organizations.

The items displayed at the fair are vegetables, fruits; processed agricultural products; nutritional products; organic foods; products that are specialties of regions and traditional craft villages; handicraft and garment products; machinery, equipment, high-tech agricultural materials... all ensuring VietGAP, GlobalGAP, VSATTP, OCOP product standards...

In particular, Binh Dinh province brings more than 40 OCOP products from typical cooperatives, including Tam Quan fish sauce, Phu Cat bird's nest, An Lao fragrant rice, Bau Da wine, and many types of tea, essential oils, and organic products that meet high standards. These products not only meet the domestic market but are also ready for export if there is a connection opportunity.

Mr. Dinh Hong Thai - Vice President of Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, said that the fair is not only a trade promotion activity but also an opportunity for cooperatives to affirm their role and position in the agricultural value chain, contributing to promoting the collective economy to develop quickly and sustainably.

“The event also creates favorable conditions for the parties to discuss and sign strategic cooperation agreements and long-term product consumption agreements, especially in the context of the domestic market restructuring the supply chain after the pandemic and climate change,” the Vice President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance expected.

Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang said that up to now, the whole province has 210 cooperatives in operation, including: 149 agricultural service cooperatives, 11 small-scale industrial and service cooperatives, 27 credit cooperatives and 14 transport cooperatives, with a total of 332,621 participating members.

Many cooperatives have proactively expanded new services associated with product value chains, in addition to traditional services. The content and form of services are increasingly diverse, practical and effective, meeting the increasing needs of members and the market.

“The trade promotion fair held in Binh Dinh province is of great significance, not only as an opportunity for cooperatives inside and outside the province to introduce their products and connect with markets, but also as an opportunity for the locality to affirm its central role in the collective economic network,” the Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh province emphasized.

Sharing with Vietnam Business reporters, Mr. Nguyen Canh Duy - owner of a facility producing herbal teas under the Cazin brand, a unit that has just had 2 products certified OCOP of Van Canh district (Binh Dinh), said that the fair is an opportunity to measure market appeal, learn about consumer tastes and start thinking about investing more systematically in packaging, branding and online sales.

“Through the fair, we have the opportunity to connect with many cooperatives and distribution businesses from the Central Highlands provinces, opening up a direction for linking product consumption in a chain instead of individually as before,” shared the owner of the Cazin tea brand.

Before the fair took place, Binh Dinh also opened an area to display, introduce and connect OCOP products, typical rural industrial products, and typical products of the province at Quy Nhon Trade Center (from May 24 to September 25), with more than 40 booths, to stimulate domestic consumption.
