The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV comes with two battery pack options: the base 42 kWh model is good for a range of up to 404 km on a single charge, while the larger 51.4 kWh model can reach a range of 490 km according to domestic standards. Fast charging is also a notable plus – it takes just 39 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% using a 100 kW charger. The car uses two electric motor configurations corresponding to each battery pack. The version with the small battery has an output of 99 kW (133 hp) and 225 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the version with the larger battery is more powerful with an output of 126 kW (169 hp) and 255 Nm of torque.
The car's acceleration is quite impressive: 0–100 km/h in just 9.5 seconds for the standard version and 8.4 seconds for the premium version. The maximum speed is up to 166 km/h. In addition to good performance, the Carens Clavis EV also scores points thanks to its flexible operating experience. The regenerative braking system has 4 levels, allowing the driver to adjust via the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. In particular, the i-Pedal mode provides a convenient one-pedal driving feeling when moving around the city. The car also integrates the V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) feature, which helps provide power to external devices - very suitable for people with a mobile lifestyle. The car's interior is designed in a modern style with two digital screens with a total size of 26.62 inches, including the dashboard behind the steering wheel and the entertainment center screen.
The list of amenities is also extensive: Digital Key 2.0, air filtration system with integrated AQI index, 8-speaker Bose sound system, dual-layer panoramic sunroof, 64-color interior lighting, electric driver's seat, ventilated front seats and flexible second row seats. In terms of safety, this MPV model meets the standard of level 2 semi-automatic driving assistance. The car is equipped with an advanced safety technology package including smart cruise control with stop & go support, blind spot warning, active lane keeping,... In addition, the car also has multi-situational automatic emergency braking (including pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles and intersections), distraction warning and reverse collision avoidance assist. In total, there are up to 18 standard safety features, including 6 airbags and the ability to update software over the air (OTA).
The Carens Clavis EV will be assembled directly in India, most likely using the same assembly line as the current petrol-powered Carens – a model currently available in some markets such as Vietnam and Bangladesh. This is a strategic step by Kia in its journey to expand its electric vehicle portfolio, targeting customers in emerging markets. In India, the Kia Carens Clavis EV is priced between 1.799 and 2.449 million Rupees (approximately 548 - 747 million VND). The car is significantly more expensive than the petrol version, which is priced between 1.15 - 2.15 million Rupees (equivalent to 351 - 656 million VND).
