Tourists experience an adventurous trekking tour on the Pu Luong heritage road.
Director of Pu Luong Nature Reserve Le Dinh Phuong said: In recent years, Pu Luong peak has become one of the favorite adventure and trekking destinations for tourists. In recent years, the unit has built Pu Luong peak into an adventure tourism route. In particular, with the support of GRET (France) through the project "Strengthening and developing action capacity for ethnic minority women to develop livelihoods and sustainably manage natural resources in Pu Luong Nature Reserve in Ba Thuoc district", Pu Luong Nature Reserve Management Board has implemented projects to renovate and repair the adventure tourism route to conquer Pu Luong peak with an altitude of 1,700m above sea level, such as: Renovating and repairing the road to Pu Luong peak; opening a trail to visit the white stone waterfall; at the same time, creating steps for places with steep slopes, difficult to move, and unsafe.
The unit has created rest stops, combined with photography; installed signs, tree name signs, propaganda signs on the tourist route, and regulations on the Pu Luong peak route. Renovated rest stops, overnight camping spots on Pu Luong peak. Built toilets at overnight camping spots to ensure hygiene and environment... Pu Luong Nature Reserve organized a conference to deploy the Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Project in the Pu Luong Nature Reserve special-use forest, at the same time introduced and put into operation the adventure tourism route to conquer Pu Luong peak with the community, tourism businesses, and homestay businesses in the area.
Tourists come to the adventurous trekking tour of Pu Luong heritage trail lasting 3 days and 2 nights, with a route length of about 30km. Starting from the administrative service center of Pu Luong Nature Reserve Management Board or from the accommodation facility in the area, visitors can experience the cultural beauty of the Thai ethnic group with villages hidden next to terraced fields. When reaching the top of Pu Luong at an altitude of 1,700m, visitors can admire the majestic natural beauty, take photos, hunt for clouds, explore the bamboo forest and feel the cool, fresh air typical of the highlands. In the evening, the group stays overnight at the campsite on the top of Pu Luong, immersing themselves in the wild nature between the stars and the mountain wind.
This type of tourism is suitable for young people who are passionate about nature and love adventure mountain climbing, exploring dense forests, large and small waterfalls, caves and mountains interspersed with peaceful villages and golden terraced fields of ripe rice of the Thai and Muong people. All will bring visitors interesting and unique experiences with many memorable memories during the journey of discovery. According to statistics from the Pu Luong Nature Reserve Management Board, from 2024 to now, the adventure trekking tour of the Pu Luong heritage route has welcomed nearly 400 domestic and foreign tourists to explore.
The initial effectiveness of the adventure trekking tour on the Pu Luong heritage route has initially created a new and attractive tourism direction in the mountainous region of Thanh Hoa; at the same time, it has created a livelihood and contributed to changing the people's thinking about tourism.
