According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism , in the first 6 months of 2025, the city's tourism continued to recover strongly and grow steadily. The city maintained its position as a major tourist center of the country, playing a leading role in attracting international and domestic visitors.
The total number of tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in the first 6 months of the year increased compared to the same period last year. Notably, the number of international visitors from key markets (USA, Korea, India, etc.) has begun to recover significantly. Major holidays such as Lunar New Year, Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, April 30 - May 1 recorded a sharp increase in the number of domestic visitors, especially in short-term tourism products, weekend tourism and river tourism.

Specifically, in June 2025, international visitors to the locality are estimated at 732,651, an increase of 62.8% over the same period in 2024; in the first 6 months of 2025, it is estimated at 3,856,534, an increase of 44% over the same period in 2024, reaching 45.4% of the 2025 plan.
Domestic tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in June 2025 are estimated at 3,252,054 arrivals, up 3.7% over the same period in 2024; the first 6 months of 2025 are estimated at 18,333,609 arrivals, up 7% over the same period in 2024, reaching 40.7% of the 2025 plan.
Total tourism revenue in June 2025 is estimated at VND 19,938 billion, up 20.1% over the same period in 2024; the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at VND 117,937 billion, up 27.3% over the same period in 2024, reaching 45.4% of the 2025 plan.
To achieve the above results, in the first 6 months of 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism industry has focused on implementing major orientations with a focus on developing unique and diverse tourism products with the identity of a creative urban area and Southern culture; promoting the application of digital technology in management, promotion and service for tourists; effectively exploiting MICE tourist flows, international tourists from key markets and domestic tourists with high spending power.
The locality is also preparing to organize a conference to deploy the City Tourism Development Project to 2030 and issue a plan to implement 79 key tasks, including 11 priority programs, including: digital transformation, regional connectivity, destination promotion, improving the quality of human resources and organizing large-scale tourism events.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has proposed that the City People's Council issue new policies such as supporting MICE guests, supporting training of rare language tour guides, supporting the development of unique products and promoting tourism with focus, etc. In addition, the Department also promotes digital transformation activities in the tourism sector through building an open data ecosystem, applying e-commerce platforms, AI, virtual reality technology to digital maps in promoting and managing destinations, etc.
In addition, tourism development cooperation activities between Ho Chi Minh City and other localities continue to be implemented synchronously and effectively, demonstrating the role of a regional center and a tourism leader of the whole country.
