Vietnam women's volleyball team wins opening match of AVC Nations Cup 2025

On the evening of June 7, at Dong Anh District Gymnasium (Hanoi), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had an impressive 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-13, 25-10) over Hong Kong (China), in the opening match of the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship - AVC Nations Cup 2025.

The B team was fielded with Thanh Thuy, Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Trinh, Le Thuy and Lam Oanh sitting on the bench, but the names given the opportunity by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet such as Bich Thuy and Nguyen Uyen all left their mark. Hong Kong could not stop the strength of our girls, making many unnecessary mistakes, the gap between the two sides widened and Vietnam had a big win of 25-15 in set 1.

Set 2 continued to witness Vietnam's superiority when Nguyen Thi Phuong continuously scored points, helping the team lead 18-10 and end 25-13.

In set 3, the game did not change when coach Tuan Kiet sent stars like Bich Tuyen, Lam Oanh, and Le Thanh Thuy onto the field, bringing home the first 3 points. Nguyen Thi Phuong continued to explode with Bich Tuyen leading the team to end the set with a resounding 25-10 victory.

Despite not using their strongest lineup, Vietnam still easily overwhelmed their weaker opponents. Coach Tuan Kiet rotated the lineup, giving all players a chance to play, with Nguyen Thi Uyen and Tran Thi Bich Thuy returning and rookie Phuong all performing excellently.
