Phase 2 of the national volleyball championship has not had any big surprises as teams with an even domestic force and quality foreign players such as The Cong, Sanest Khanh Hoa , and Border Guard have all affirmed their strength.
Border Guard Team won the first ticket to the semi-finals of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship
The current runner-up, Border Defense, is the first team to qualify for the semi-finals after two consecutive victories against Hanoi (3-0) and Long An (3-1). With a total of six wins since the start of the tournament, the gap that Border Defense created with the fourth-placed team, Ninh Binh, is already eight points while there are only two rounds left in the second stage, so coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team have already secured a ticket to the semi-finals.
Although they have qualified for the semi-finals two rounds early, the Border Defense Club still has an important goal of maintaining the top spot in the table to avoid the strong teams in the semi-finals. The two teams competing for the top spot with Border Defense are the defending champions Sanest Khanh Hoa (16 points) and The Cong (17 points). Today, there will be exciting matches between Hanoi Club and Long An at 2:00 p.m., Ninh Binh and The Cong at 5:00 p.m., and Bien Phong and Sanest Khanh Hoa at 8:00 p.m. These are all key matches for the semi-final ticket, with the focus being on recreating the final match of last year's national volleyball championship between Sanest Khanh Hoa and Bien Phong. The Cong Club will also officially enter the semi-finals if they defeat Ninh Binh Club.
