On the afternoon of August 24, Mr. La Van Thai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Huu Khuong commune, said that the commune government had mobilized forces to move people in areas at risk of landslides and flash floods to safety.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Huu Khuong Commune, despite the heavy rain, the stream water rising and flowing rapidly, the youth union members and militia in Pung Bon village did not fear the danger, bringing 4 households on the other side of Ngau stream to safety before storm No. 5 made landfall. Among them were 2 elderly people and 2 middle-aged people.

Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 3 Wipha at the end of July, Huu Khuong commune suffered from continuous heavy rains, causing serious landslides, sweeping away houses, blocking traffic and causing heavy damage to people's property and crops.
