Directly performing the ceremonial artillery firing ceremony during the general training, preliminary rehearsal, state-level rehearsal and the official celebration on the upcoming National Day September 2, on the evening of August 24, the 45th Artillery Brigade (Artillery - Missile Command) fired 63 primer doses at My Dinh Stadium to open the general training program at Ba Dinh Square.
Accordingly, 5 platoons with nearly 60 soldiers of the Brigade directly performed the ceremonial artillery firing ceremony. 15 105mm artillery pieces were divided into 5 clusters, each cluster led by a platoon leader in charge of 9 gunners and 3 artillery pieces.
Five clusters fired 21 volleys of 63 primers to the Vietnamese National Anthem, each volley consisting of three primers with an interval of 2.7 seconds. At the official ceremony, the primers will be replaced by 105mm ceremonial shells.
The training session at Ba Dinh Square consisted of two parts: Performing the Party and State's rituals and ceremonies and marching; with the participation of nearly 16,000 officers and soldiers, including 43 walking groups (26 Army groups, 17 Police groups) and foreign military groups, 18 standing groups, 14 military and special vehicles of the Army and Police.
After 40 years since 1985, the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2 will be the second anniversary held at Ba Dinh Square with a large-scale parade of vehicles, weapons, and equipment.

The vehicles and artillery that appeared this time are all modern weapons in the inventory of the Vietnam People's Army and the Vietnam People's Public Security. Notably, the missile systems, UAVs, and combat vehicles were researched, designed, produced, and developed by Vietnam itself. In addition, many weapons such as missiles, tanks, armored vehicles, and rocket artillery have also been improved and modernized by Vietnam with many modern equipment.
The Army's vehicle and artillery units include: Armored tanks; self-propelled artillery, rocket artillery, surface-to-surface missiles; anti-aircraft artillery, anti-aircraft missiles; electronic warfare vehicles...
The Police's special vehicles include: Traffic command vehicles leading convoys; protection vehicles, escorting Party and State leaders and international delegations; Mobile Combat Command Center vehicles; Bulletproof armored special vehicles; Anti-riot special vehicles; Multi-purpose combat support special vehicles; Fire prevention, firefighting, rescue and salvage vehicles...
After the ceremony, the groups: Honor Guard (including the National Emblem model car; the Party flag, the National flag; the portrait car of President Ho Chi Minh; the model car symbolizing the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam); the walking group (including the walking group of the Vietnam People's Army, foreign armies, militia and guerrillas, the walking group of the Vietnam People's Public Security); the military vehicles, artillery, special police vehicles; the mass groups (representing workers, farmers, youth, women, veterans, overseas Vietnamese, etc.) took turns passing through the stage in front of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
Like the first joint training exercise at Ba Dinh Square, this joint training exercise still had the participation of three foreign military blocs, including: the Russian Federation, Laos and Cambodia.
The parade blocks demonstrated the heroic spirit and momentum of the people's armed forces, combined with the smooth march of weapons, equipment, and special vehicles, showing the modernization of the Vietnam People's Army and People's Public Security Forces. The horizontal and vertical formations were basically guaranteed. The blocks marched in an even, beautiful, and unified manner, demonstrating the combined strength, combat readiness, and level of discipline of the armed forces and the spirit of great national unity.
Compared to the first time of the general training at Ba Dinh Square, the mass groups including: Representatives of the solidarity of Vietnamese ethnic groups; representatives of 54 ethnic groups; veterans; former People's Police; workers; farmers; revolutionary press; intellectuals; businessmen, women; overseas Vietnamese, youth and culture and sports, have made significant progress.

After passing through the stage at Ba Dinh Square, the parade groups split into many directions, passing through the central streets of Hanoi before returning to the planned assembly point.
On the evening of August 21, for the first time, the forces participating in the parade and marching at the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (mission A80) conducted a comprehensive training session at Ba Dinh Square, which was also the first comprehensive training session with the participation of the masses.
Attending and inspecting the first combined training session at Ba Dinh Square, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang praised the efforts of the walking units, the artillery units and especially the standing units, who had maintained standing for over 3 hours but were still very serious, demonstrating the sense of responsibility of one of the powerful forces carrying out the A80 mission. General Phan Van Giang hoped that during the rehearsal and the official ceremony taking place in the coming days, when deployed during the day, regardless of good weather or certain difficulties, the forces would still be determined to carry out the assigned tasks well.
