With the strong increase in world coffee prices and positive signals from the export market, domestic coffee prices are forecast to continue to maintain an upward trend tomorrow, August 25. The increase may not be as sudden as today but will still increase, possibly reaching 125,000 VND/kg in some localities.
In the world market, coffee prices have fluctuated strongly recently with rapid changes in both supply and demand factors and trade policies. In July, coffee prices fell due to the rapid progress of the harvest in Brazil and forecasts of abundant supply. However, after US President Donald Trump announced tariffs on Brazilian coffee, the market immediately reversed and prices increased sharply.
For the second consecutive week, global coffee prices maintained an upward trend: Arabica reached a three-month high, while Robusta also reached a nearly three-month peak. In addition to policy factors, concerns about adverse weather in Brazil, the world's largest coffee exporter, prompted investors to increase purchases of futures contracts, contributing to the increase.
With the US dollar falling sharply and the possibility of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) cutting interest rates in September, coffee prices on world exchanges are forecast to continue their upward trend tomorrow. The combination of macro factors and supply concerns from Brazil will continue to encourage investors to buy, pushing prices to higher levels.

In Dak Lak, it is currently being traded at 124,000 VND/kg.

Domestic coffee prices are forecast to continue to maintain an upward trend. The increase may not be as sudden as today but will still increase, possibly reaching 125,000 VND/kg in some localities.
According to experts, the new US tax policy could change the flow of global trade. If imports from Brazil are tightened, the supply pressure will shift to other countries, including Vietnam - the world's largest exporter of Robusta coffee. This opens up opportunities for domestic coffee prices to increase further.
