
Speaking at the press conference, Colonel Le Hoai Phong, Head of the Political Affairs Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police) said that this is a tournament to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Force Tradition Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025); 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection.
The tournament was organized by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with relevant agencies, bringing together more than 150 athletes from 4 Southeast Asian countries (Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia and host Vietnam).
According to Colonel Le Hoai Phong, the tournament aims to strengthen international cooperation, promote cultural and sports exchanges between police forces of various countries, and improve physical strength and solidarity within the armed forces. This is also a sporting event of important political, cultural and foreign affairs significance, and will be officially held in Vietnam in the following years.

Six teams participated in the tournament: People's Public Security (the core is the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security Volleyball Team); Army (The Cong Tan Cang); Hanoi (Hanoi Club); Lao Ministry of Public Security Team; Cambodian Ministry of Interior Team (Visakha); Indonesian Police Team (Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi Club)
Regarding the award structure, First Prize: Cup, Gold Medal and bonus of 10,000 USD; Second Prize: Silver Medal, bonus of 8,000 USD; Third Prize: Bronze Medal, bonus of 5,000 USD; Style Prize: 3,000 USD and Outstanding Individual Prize: 300 USD/person.
The tournament opens at 6:30 p.m. on August 26; closes at 5 p.m. on August 30. The venue is Military Zone 7 Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City.
