The filial children of the country
Venerable Thich Gia Quang said, in the compassionate light of Buddhism, filial piety is not only taking care of parents, but also being loyal to the country and the nation.
"How many children have put aside their youth, left behind their beloved homes... to keep the country intact. They are also filial children, but have chosen a greater love, which is the love for the beautiful country, for every inch of land, every breath of their homeland," said monk Thich Gia Quang.
Therefore, over the past 11 Vu Lan seasons, the Vu Lan - Filial Piety and Nation program has had a journey to pay tribute to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of war invalids and martyrs across the country.
This year, the program takes place from June, with many gratitude, charity and social security activities.
At the art program on the evening of August 25, the organizers presented gifts to 5 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers from Hanoi and Bac Ninh , including a 104-year-old mother in Bac Ninh; and 11 relatives of war invalids and martyrs.
