VPBank deploys Apple Pay for VPBank JCB cardholders

Pay easily, securely, and privately on your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, or Mac

Starting today, Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank ( VPBank ) officially launches Apple Pay for JCB credit cardholders. Apple Pay is an easy, secure and private payment method in stores, online and in apps.

When paying in-store, customers simply double-click the side button, authenticate, and hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the payment terminal to make a contactless transaction. Every Apple Pay transaction is secured with Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode authentication , along with a unique dynamic security code. Apple Pay is accepted at grocery stores, pharmacies, taxis, restaurants, cafes, retail stores, and more.

Customers can also use Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad, and Mac to make faster and more convenient purchases in apps or on the web using Safari without creating an account or re-entering shipping and payment information.

Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When a customer uses a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card number is not stored on the device or on Apple servers . Instead, a unique dynamic security code is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element — an industry-standard, certified chip designed to securely store payment information on the device.

Setting up Apple Pay is simple. On iPhone, simply open the Apple Wallet app , tap the plus sign (+) and follow the instructions to add the VPBank Z JCB credit card. Customers can add the card from the VPBank NEO iOS app and follow the instructions. After adding the card to their iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac, customers can start using Apple Pay on that device immediately. Customers will still receive the full rewards and benefits of the VPBank Z JCB card, including discounts of up to 30% at more than 100 restaurants across Vietnam.

Customers can easily open a VPBank Z JCB credit card right on the VPBank NEO app or open it directly at the counter. It is known that customers who make a transaction via Apple Pay for the first time using a VPBank Z JCB card will receive a refund of VND 50,000, applicable to bills of at least VND 200,000.
