On June 29, Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) launched a new lottery product called Lotto 5/35. With two draws each day at 13:00 and 21:00, this type offers the opportunity to win the jackpot twice a day, continuously for 7 days a week.
Lotto 5/35 has a total of 7 prize categories, of which the jackpot prize has a starting value of 6 billion VND and will continue to accumulate through the draws if no one wins.
The difference of this lottery product is the mechanism of dividing the jackpot. That is, when the accumulated jackpot reaches 12 billion VND and there is still no winner, Vietlott will divide the prize in the drawing at 9:00 p.m. the next day (the prize division period), on the condition that there is no jackpot winner in the drawing periods.

Specifically, the prize money will be divided among the winning tickets of the remaining prize categories (except for the consolation prize), issued in the same prize drawing period. The jackpot will be divided according to the ratio: the first prize category will receive 1/3 of the jackpot value, the remaining prize categories will receive 1/6 of the jackpot value.
If one of the prize categories has no winner, the prize value of that prize category will be divided equally among the remaining prize categories.
In terms of gameplay, Lotto 5/35 allows players to choose 5 numbers from the set of 01 to 35, along with a special number from 01 to 12 to create a series of winning numbers with a value of 10,000 VND/set. In addition, players can choose to play multiple sets of numbers to increase the number of participating numbers.
Previously, after more than 3 months of not finding a lucky winner, the Jackpot 1 prize of the Power 6/55 lottery officially reached the 300 billion VND mark in the 1,209th draw held on the evening of June 28. According to the rules, if both Jackpot 1 and Jackpot 2 of the Power 6/55 product still do not find an owner, the value of Jackpot 1 will continue to accumulate. If only a lucky winner of Jackpot 2 is found, the accumulated portion of 300 billion VND or more of Jackpot 1 will be transferred to Jackpot 2.
In the face of the attractive jackpot, both Vietlott's ticket sales and the prize value paid to players increased. Since its launch, the value of the Power 6/55 lottery has reached a record of more than 314 billion VND in 2024. This big prize was then divided equally between 2 lucky people in Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2025, Vietlott was assigned by the Ministry of Finance to have a taxable revenue plan of VND 8,750 billion, contributing VND 2,023 billion to the state budget. In just the first 5 months of 2025, Vietlott also recorded a revenue of more than VND 3,590 billion, paid out more than VND 1,902 billion in prizes to players, and contributed more than VND 1,000 billion to the state budget.
