80 years have passed since the historic autumn of 1945, but in today's life, the love for the Fatherland is still being written by the Vietnamese people in a lively, youthful and proud way.
Connecting patriotic hearts

When mentioning the August Revolution of 1945 and National Day September 2, many people's memories will echo with songs that have accompanied the years such as "Marching Song", "Marching to Hanoi", "August 19", "On the Road"... It is not only music but also the fire that fuels the will to fight, arousing patriotism in difficult years.
Today, new songs praising the country by a generation of young musicians are continuing to light that fire. The song “Vietnam - Proudly Leading the Future” by musician Nguyen Van Chung is a typical example. The heroic melodies resounding in these historic autumn days not only carry the breath of the times but also serve as a call for the people of the whole country to unite to build the country. “I clearly feel a strong wave of change taking place in my country. That inspiration prompted me to write “Vietnam - Proudly Leading the Future”, musician Nguyen Van Chung shared.
Not just single melodies, large-scale political art programs organized during this time have become spiritual "meeting places" for tens of thousands of people in Hanoi in particular and the whole country in general.
The music night “Under the Glorious Flag” took place at three locations in Hanoi, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City on August 9, bringing the audience back to the historic moment of the nation. At Ba Dinh Square, from the afternoon of August 9, a large number of people lined up eagerly to immerse themselves in the heroic musical atmosphere.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ninh (Thanh Xuan Ward) was moved: “The program “Under the Glorious Flag” has deeply portrayed the image of the soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Army through the ages, always loyal, brave, resilient and ready to sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Enjoying the songs that have been with us for many years, I feel like I am reliving the historical moments of the nation.”
And young person To Thi Thuy Loan from Lam Thao ward, Bac Ninh province, shared: "With the desire to capture this special moment, I chose an ao dai printed with the names of localities across the country to take photos at President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum before the art program began."
Then, on the evening of August 10, My Dinh National Stadium was red with 50,000 spectators wearing shirts with the national flag printed on them participating in the art program “Fatherland in the heart”. Vu Duy Minh Tien, a student at the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, said: “I have never lived in such an emotional and heroic musical space. Each song and each image at the program recreated the 80-year journey of building and defending the country, making me love my country even more. I will arrange time to attend the art program “Proud to be Vietnamese” taking place on August 17”.
When patriotism becomes a cultural trait

Love for the Fatherland is not only expressed on stage but also present in daily life, on the streets, in every cafe, shop, and familiar corner of the Capital.
Since the end of July, many streets in the city have been covered with red flags with yellow stars. Banners “Happy National Day 2-9” have been hung solemnly as a highlight to extend historical memories. Many coffee shops have even become “memory spaces” for an entire generation. At Somrin Specialty Coffee in Duong Noi Ward, flags interspersed with LED lights, photos of Uncle Ho and old propaganda paintings are neatly displayed. “When customers walk in and see the fluttering flag and the image of Uncle Ho, I want them to feel national pride,” said shop owner Nguyen Thanh Binh.
At Ka:mon kafe in Tay Ho ward, the "check-in" corners have turned into miniature "film studios" with large red flags with yellow stars, maps of Vietnam, images of Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence, and conical hats painted red with yellow stars... Each corner is a photo frame reminiscent of Independence Day 80 years ago. At Cafe Gom in Ha Dong ward, a group of young students spent a whole week designing a "historical corner" with documentary photos, harmonious lighting and colors. Le Van Duong, a member of the group, said: "In the process of completing the decoration of the shop, I was equipped with more knowledge about historical events of the nation and loved my homeland and country more."

Not stopping at the trend of taking photos, holiday decoration has become a new cultural feature. Some young people also stick flags on motorbikes, buy ao dai embroidered with the red flag with a yellow star to wear during the holidays. Witnessing the love of today's young generation for their homeland and country, Chairman of the Advisory Council for Synthesis and Analysis of Social Opinion of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Vu Hao Quang, was moved to share: "People often say that young people now live a virtual life, but I see that young people are spreading patriotism in very close and simple ways."
Coffee shops and shops decorated with flags and flowers not only beautify the streets but also demonstrate the national spirit that is being persistently passed down, making every space beat with the same proud beat of Vietnam.
Love for the Fatherland today is no longer limited to solemn ceremonies or golden pages of history, but also lives in every proud melody, every propaganda painting, in the excitement of young people when "checking in" next to the banner "Happy National Day September 2nd", in the emotions of the elderly when listening to old songs again... And above all, those are the moments that make everyone feel clearly: The Fatherland is not far away, the Fatherland is always in everyone's heart.
