According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, currently about 60-65% of industrial coconut output in Vinh Long is consumed through the processing industry within the province, 10-15% is exported raw; the rest is consumed fresh domestically. Thereby, creating products with high economic value such as: coconut water, coconut oil, coconut candy, coconut rice... In which, one of the outstanding products is coconut candy (Ben Tre coconut candy) currently has more than 100 production facilities.

At the same time, 80% of wax coconut output is sold as raw materials mainly for domestic consumption... only about 20% of wax coconut output is processed.

In the coming time, the agricultural sector will continue to develop coconut products connecting domestic and foreign consumption markets, in which the foreign market is the main market (> 75%); build reputable brands, trademarks, and trace the origin of coconut products. Strive for an average increase of over 10%/year in coconut product export turnover.

At the same time, promote the formation and development of coconut production cooperatives according to the value chain, linking with processing and export consumption enterprises; implement consumption through contracts for about 70% by 2030 in concentrated production areas...
