Vietnam has just been honored as "Asia's Best Golf Destination 2024" by the 11th World Golf Awards. The event took place last weekend in Madeira, Portugal. Notably, this is the 8th consecutive time Vietnam has been honored at the World Golf Awards.
To receive this title, Vietnam had to overcome a series of other "heavyweight" candidates such as: Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Notably, also at the award ceremony, the capital Hanoi was honored as "The World's Best Golf City Destination 2024".
The award categories are the result of a year-long search for the world’s favorite golf tourism brands. The vote is voted on by golf experts, media and the public. The winner is the candidate with the most votes in a category.
Vietnam is considered an ideal golf destination in Asia thanks to its beautiful natural scenery and favorable tropical climate for investing in golf course development and golf tourism. Vietnam currently has about 100 18-hole golf courses in operation, of which 32 courses meet international 5-star standards combined with luxury resorts.
One of the key orientations in the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister is infrastructure development and golf tourism product development.
With 8 times being voted as the Best Golf Destination in Asia, 2 times winning the award for the Best Golf Destination in the World, the World Travel Awards (WTA) has chosen Vietnam for 6 consecutive years as the leading golf destination in Asia (2017 - 2022) and the leading golf destination in the world in 2019, 2021... can affirm the brand, attractiveness and position of Vietnam on the world golf tourism map.
Earlier this year, SBS Golf, a golf TV channel in Korea, aired the first episodes of the program “Golf & Travel in Vietnam”. This golf trip is considered the most special and interesting ever created by SBS Golf, when it brings viewers attractive suggestions about a trip that combines both a classy golf experience and travel and relaxation.
SBS Golf has chosen Da Nang and Phu Quoc as the two most prominent and suitable destinations for golf tourism in Vietnam. Because these are not only world-famous beautiful beaches, possessing many classy golf courses, but also a multi-experience ecosystem from cuisine, entertainment, recreation to resort, suitable for resort tourism combined with golf, which is attracting attention among the upper class, successful people and tourists who are passionate about exploring and experiencing the world.
