According to Ha Tinh Province Statistics, the bustling construction market, high prices of construction materials, and increased demand for household electricity are the main reasons for the CPI in July 2025 increasing by 0.07% compared to the previous month. There are 5 groups of goods with price indexes increasing, 2 groups of goods with prices decreasing, and 4 groups of goods with prices stable.

Among the five groups with price increases, the food and beverage group had the highest increase of 0.37%; the household equipment and appliances group increased by 0.09%; the other goods and services group increased by 0.07%; the clothing, hats, and footwear group increased by 0.06%; and the culture, entertainment, and tourism group increased by 0.03%.
The main reason for the price increase in July is due to seasonal factors and increased consumer demand during the summer. July coincides with the summer vacation season, so dining, shopping, travel and entertainment activities all increase sharply.
In particular, in the group of goods and catering services, the 0.54% increase in food prices was the main factor driving up the CPI of this group. The reason was the outbreak of African swine fever in some localities, affecting the supply of pork, while consumers tended to switch to using livestock and poultry meat. This caused a sudden increase in demand, causing prices of alternative meats such as beef, chicken, duck, etc. to increase significantly compared to the previous month.
On the other hand, the transport group decreased by 0.32%; the housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials group decreased by 0.2%. The main reason for the decrease in prices in these groups is that the price of gasoline continues to decrease, leading to a decrease in the cost of transporting goods and services, directly affecting the price index of the transport group.
For the housing and construction materials group, residential rental prices tend to decrease due to reduced rental demand in the summer, especially in areas with a large number of students and seasonal workers. Household gas prices also decreased sharply by 2.04% compared to the previous month, contributing significantly to the overall decrease in this group.
On average, in the first 7 months of 2025, CPI increased by 4.43% over the same period last year, of which: urban areas increased by 6.1%, rural areas increased by 3.71%. Prices of food, foodstuffs, electricity, education services, and medical services are factors that increase CPI.
The CPI in August 2025 is expected to be affected by typical seasonal factors. Preparations for the new school year often lead to increased demand for items such as school supplies, stationery and student apparel, which could push prices of these groups up slightly during the month.
On the contrary, August this year coincides with the 7th lunar month - a time when consumers tend to limit purchases of large-value assets such as electronics, household appliances, vehicles, etc. due to spiritual factors and traditional beliefs. This will likely reduce consumer demand for these product groups, leading to slight price reduction pressure or stable prices for household appliances and equipment, as well as personal vehicles.
