Fabric at the end of the season, super cheap price
In the last days of July, lychee is entering the end of the season. According to the reporter's research, in the market from traditional markets to online stalls, lychee is sold at an unprecedentedly low price.
Ms. Hoai, a trader in Ha Dong ( Hanoi ) said: "This year, lychee has a good harvest, and it comes at the same time as many other fruits are in season, so the selling price is gradually decreasing day by day. Last year, at the end of the season, it was still sold at a good price, but this year, it is now only 10,000-15,000 VND/kg, and some markets even sell it for only 6,000-8,000 VND/kg."
However, according to retailers, this is also the end of the lychee season, the variety of fruit is not as diverse as at the beginning of the season, and the quality is also gradually decreasing. Many consumers have started to buy in large quantities to store in the refrigerator for later use.

Ms. Phuong in Cau Giay, Hanoi said: "Last year, lychee was so expensive that the family didn't have time to eat it before the lychee season ended. This year, it's the opposite. Lychee is both cheap and sweet, and you can see it everywhere you go to the market. Everyone in my family loves lychee, so we took the opportunity to eat it to our heart's content during the season. Now that lychee is at the end of the season, there aren't many options, so I usually order a few dozen kilos of good stuff from acquaintances and store it to eat gradually."
Lychee is a favorite food of many people, however, the lychee season is very short, only lasting about 2-3 weeks. To prolong the 'summer flavor' of this lychee, many women have shared with each other ways to preserve fresh lychee in the refrigerator.
Some people can keep lychees for 1-2 weeks, some people successfully store lychees for nearly a month and the fruit is still juicy and sweet as if it was just picked. With the preservation methods shared, according to housewives, lychees do not lose water when kept in the refrigerator for a long time.
3 simple ways to keep lychees fresh for a whole month
Method 1: Use newspaper and plastic boxes to store fabric in the refrigerator
This is the method that Ms. Luong Hoai Thu - Hanoi applied and shared with everyone. This method is simple, not complicated but keeps the lychee fresh for 2-3 weeks.
"Lychee season is very short, only blooming for 2-3 weeks, so we have to find a way to store it. With this method, lychees can be kept for up to 3 weeks, each time we open them, they are still fragrant, juicy, and cool to eat as if they were just picked. Women can apply this, anyone can do it, and occasionally when they crave it, they can take it out and eat it" - Ms. Thu shared.
Steps to follow:
Cut close to the lychee stem. Cut as neatly as possible, being careful not to tear the skin.

Cover the top with a layer of newspaper, cover the box tightly and store in the refrigerator. When ready to eat, open it, take out the cloth and cover it with newspaper again.
Method 2: Soak in ice water, store in a sealed bag in the refrigerator
According to Tien Vu, this method can preserve fresh lychees for nearly half a month without spoiling. The lychees will not have dark skin or dry stems after many days. Many housewives share this method online because it is simple and effective.
Steps:
1. Cut each lychee fruit apart, keeping the stem intact.
When cutting each lychee, be careful to avoid crushing it.
2. Soak the fabric in a basin of ice water for a few minutes. Remove and drain, but do not let it dry completely.
3. Next, put it in a plastic bag, tie the bag tightly and put the cloth bag in the refrigerator. Take a portion each time you eat and tie it tightly.
Method 3: Use a damp cloth to cover the fabric to preserve it.
Use a dry one to place at the bottom of the plastic box, then place the fabric on top and then use another clean towel and wring it out with water, shaking the towel vigorously to remove all the water so that the towel is just damp. Then, cover the surface of the lychee.
Using wet towels to preserve fabrics is also a method used by many people.
Close the lid and store in the refrigerator. If the box does not have a breathing button, check the towel at the bottom of the box every 2 days to see if it is damp. If it is damp, replace it with a dry towel.
