Strong collision with container truck, truck driver luckily escaped death

After a strong collision with the back of a container on Highway 1 in Cam Xuyen ( Ha Tinh ) in the early morning of May 30, the front of the truck was crushed. Authorities had to use a cutter to “rescue” the truck driver.

At 4:00 a.m. on May 30, the mail truck with license plate 29H - 867.34, driven by Do Manh Hung (born in 1981, residing in Me Linh district, Hanoi ), was traveling on National Highway 1 in the North - South direction. When moving to the section passing through Cam Xuyen town (Cam Xuyen district), the mail truck suddenly hit the back of the container truck with license plate 89H - 031.92, driven by Ngo Manh Tu (residing in Yen My district, Hung Yen).

The strong collision almost completely deformed the front of the mail truck. Driver Do Manh Hung was injured and trapped in the cabin.

Authorities had to cut the cabin open to get the mail truck driver out.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Ha Tinh Provincial Police were present, coordinating with functional units to "rescue" driver Hung.

Authorities had to use a large cutter to cut the cab of the mail truck. After 30 minutes of rescue, driver Do Manh Hung was brought out with a broken leg. The driver was immediately taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Initial information said that the driver was lucky to only have a broken leg.

The cause of the traffic accident is under investigation.
