According to the statement, air defense forces destroyed more than 40 UAVs in the Morozovsky District on Friday morning. These attacks damaged an electrical substation and caused damage to several residential buildings.
Meanwhile, Ukraine confirmed that it launched a massive UAV attack on an airbase in Russia's Rostov region, causing casualties among Russian servicemen and destroying fighter jets.
Specifically, Ukrainian sources told CNN on Friday that the Ukrainian Security Service and the Ukrainian military were behind the attacks on Morozovsk airport in the Rostov region, destroying at least six Russian fighter jets.

The airport was targeted because it was used as a base for aircraft “used to launch guided bombs at targets on the Ukrainian border,” the source said, adding that about 20 Russian servicemen were affected, killed or injured.
Several other regions in Russia have also been attacked by UAVs, with the Russian Defense Ministry claiming on Friday that it had intercepted and destroyed at least 53 Ukrainian drones over various Russian territories.
According to the Ministry, air defense systems intercepted 44 UAVs over the Rostov region, 6 UAVs over the Krasnodar region and several over the Saratov, Kursk and Belgorod regions.
In the southeastern city of Engels in Saratov, home to the Russian Armed Forces' strategic aviation base, regional head Roman Busargin confirmed the interception of a UAV but insisted there were no casualties or damage.
The Rostov region, which borders Ukraine in southern Russia, has been hit by Kiev airstrikes before. In September 2023, a drone attack caused an explosion near Russian military headquarters in the city of Rostov-on-Don.
Ukraine is stepping up sabotage attacks targeting military bases and economic facilities across Russia, hoping to drain Russia's resources in its conflict with the country.
