Yesterday, coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa and her team won an excellent victory over the U.21 Canada team in the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Future Stars Volleyball Tournament, thereby winning a ticket to the semi-finals. Previously, in the group stage, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team defeated U.21 France, U.21 Bauru (Brazil) and only lost 1 match to U.21 China. Facing opponents from Europe, South America and the representative of Asia's number 1 volleyball country, China, is a valuable opportunity for the Vietnamese women's volleyball players to test their abilities as well as hone and learn.

Not placing too much emphasis on the achievements in the Shanghai Future Stars tournament, the coaching board of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, in addition to using players with good form and suitable for the playing style, also gives opportunities to players who rarely play on the field. That is also the reason why the Vietnamese team brought to the tournament a reserve team with players such as Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Pham Thi Hien, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh... Even coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa, who was an assistant to coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet in the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, was given the opportunity to be a captain in an international tournament for the first time.
At the same time, the key players of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team such as Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh went to Tam Dao (Phu Tho) to train their physical strength to prepare for upcoming important international tournaments such as the Southeast Asian tournament (SEA V.League), world championship, SEA Games 33. Although not present in Shanghai, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet regularly discussed and grasped the preparation process and competition results through reports from the coaching staff. Outstanding players who demonstrated their abilities in the friendly tournament in Shanghai promise to compete for a main position in the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the near future.
