The Tobacco Harm Prevention Fund ( Ministry of Health ) has just launched a campaign to promote smoke-free environments in restaurants, hotels and public places to strengthen enforcement of the Law on Tobacco Harm Prevention and encourage tourism service businesses to proactively build smoke-free spaces.
According to Mr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, in recent years, the work of preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco in Vietnam has achieved many positive results. However, the rate of passive smoking in restaurants is up to 67.3%, in coffee shops is 59.2%, so activities to build a smoke-free environment in hotels, restaurants, and public places need to continue. Restaurants and hotels need to comply with regulations, pioneer in implementing a smoke-free environment, considering this a service quality standard.
