At the recent working session with CT&D Group and Phu My Hung Development Company Limited, the Provincial People's Committee selected Tam Dao Cordyceps - a typical OCOP product as a gift to Mr. Gary Tseng, General Director of Phu My Hung Company and the delegation. This is not only the pride of Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative but also a clear demonstration of the quality and reputation of Phu Tho province's OCOP products in particular and Vietnamese agricultural products in general.
Taking advantage of the year-round cool climate - ideal conditions for cultivating precious medicinal mushrooms, especially Cordyceps, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative (Tam Dao commune) has boldly invested in modern technology, combining traditional cultivation methods to create high-quality products, preserving the content of precious medicinal substances.
Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has 12 products certified by OCOP, of which Tam Dao Cordyceps has achieved 4-star OCOP certification.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Director of the Cooperative, said: To ensure quality raw materials, the Cooperative cooperates with households in Phu Tho and Lao Cai to grow more than 100 hectares of mulberry to raise silkworms, transfer techniques, provide seeds and input materials. From there, we can proactively source silkworm pupae - the main raw material for cultivating Cordyceps. The Cooperative researches and deeply processes many product lines such as: Cakes, water, milk, kidney tonic pills from Cordyceps... with a closed production process, strictly controlled from raw materials to finished products, ensuring safety for users.
Currently, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has 12 OCOP certified products, of which Tam Dao Cordyceps has achieved 4-star OCOP certification. This brand is protected and recognized as a typical tourist gift product of Vinh Phuc province (formerly). In 2025, the Cooperative plans to launch 4 new products, including 2 products under provincial-level research projects. The products are highly appreciated for their quality, safety and nutritional value.
With its outstanding contributions, from 2011 to present, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has received many certificates of merit and prestigious awards. Most recently, the Cooperative was honored by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance as one of the 100 outstanding cooperatives nationwide with the award "Cooperative Star 2025".
Not only Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative, Kim Boi Joint Stock Company is also one of the pioneers in developing OCOP products. In January 2025, the company's two products of ready-to-cook pickled bamboo shoots and dried bamboo shoots were recognized as meeting the 5-star OCOP standards at the national level. Currently, the company's bamboo shoot products are available in demanding markets such as Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Germany, the UK... and are distributed in many large domestic supermarket chains such as Lotte, AEON, Winmart... Taking advantage of the abundant raw material area from Hoa Binh province (formerly), famous for its bamboo shoot specialties, the company has invested in research and production according to a closed process that meets ISO 22000:2018 standards. The products are processed from natural bamboo shoots, do not use preservatives, ensuring food safety and preserving the traditional flavor.
The whole province of Phu Tho currently has 593 OCOP products with 3 stars or more, of which 5 products have 5 stars. In recent years, the One Commune One Product Program in Phu Tho has contributed to shifting the economic structure in rural areas, creating high-quality products, linking value chains with product consumption, meeting market demand, increasing income for people... The products are not only associated with large raw material areas but also form a sustainable value chain. Many units have promoted consumption through online channels such as Postmart.vn, Voso.vn, Shopee, Lazada, TikTok..., contributing to affirming the brand and expanding the market.
In the coming time, the province will continue to direct relevant units to promote the development of rural craft villages in association with local strengths; connect craft village products and OCOP products with tourism activities, festivals, and traditional culture; support intellectual property registration, certify products according to safe production standards (VietGAP, GlobalGAP...), apply traceability systems; research and invest in product brand protection identification systems to improve and enhance the value and competitiveness of OCOP products. Thereby, Phu Tho OCOP products will increasingly reach further, affirming their position on the national agricultural product map.
