Binh Khanh Bridge, spanning the Soai Rap River, connecting Hiep Phuoc Commune with Binh Khanh Commune, started construction in August 2025 with a total investment of more than VND2,800 billion. With a length of 2.76 km, of which the main bridge is 763 m long, the project has a two-plane cable-stayed design, a 135 m high H-shaped tower with a 55 m clearance, considered the tallest in Vietnam. Having been stalled since the end of 2018 when it had only reached about 70% of the volume due to ODA capital problems, the project is currently accelerating construction to reach the finish line on schedule.
Construction began in August 2015, and by the end of 2018, when only about 70% of the volume had been completed, the project was forced to temporarily stop. During the implementation process, the package was affected from January 2019 to October 2022 due to problems with ODA capital arrangement. It was not until the end of 2023, with the determination to restart the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway project, that Binh Khanh Bridge was officially resumed. The bridge has a total length of more than 2.76km, of which the main bridge is 763m long. The two-plane cable-stayed design with a 135m high H-shaped tower not only has a modern aesthetic but also ensures a load-bearing structure with a clearance of up to 55m. It is the largest cable-stayed bridge on the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway. Binh Khanh Bridge plays a key role in the East-West connection axis of the South. Many self-propelled cranes and large trucks continuously transport materials and equipment to the construction site, creating an urgent construction atmosphere along the entire route.
At the Binh Khanh bridge construction site, workers and machines are working hard to ensure the traffic opening progress according to plan. Items such as median strips, railings and lighting systems are under construction. Panoramic view of Binh Khanh bridge connecting the two banks from Hiep Phuoc commune to Binh Khanh commune.
When officially put into operation, Binh Khanh Bridge will contribute to reducing traffic congestion and pressure on National Highway 1A, National Highway 51 and Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, promoting socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the southern key economic region.
