Collective Strength

Before the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's team led the tournament in many important indicators. Coach Mai Duc Chung's students scored the most goals (14 goals, equal to the Thai women's team), had the most shots (84 times), had the most shots on target (36 times) and were the only team that had not conceded a goal. The Vietnamese women's team led Group A thanks to their even team, with excellent individuals spread across the lines.

The trio of central defenders Chuong Thi Kieu, Thu Thuong, Diem My (or Tran Thi Thu) created stability and certainty in front of goalkeeper Kim Thanh's goal. These are all experienced players, pillars of the Vietnamese women's team for many years. On the two wings, Tran Thi Duyen and Thu Thao attack and defend comprehensively, creating considerable pressure on the opponent's defense. In the center, Hai Linh and Thai Thi Thao are still very stable. As for the attack, besides Bich Thuy who is absolutely trusted, the remaining players such as Huynh Nhu, Hai Yen, Nguyen Thi Van, Ngan Thi Van Su... played from average to above and all left their mark. In addition, reserve players such as Tuyet Dung and Truc Huong also played very well whenever given the opportunity.

Thanks to that, the Vietnamese women's team always maintained control of the game, played better than the opponent, and continuously changed positions to create diverse attack options, surprising the opponent. Mr. Palatsides (Coach of the Australian women's team) commented: "All Vietnamese players are equally dangerous". This strategist's sharing has a basis, because there were 10 players from all three lines scoring for the Vietnamese women's team. The 3 players who scored the most goals were striker Hai Yen (3 goals), winger Van Su (2 goals) and defender Thu Thao (2 goals).

As for the Australian women's team, they are highly regarded for their physique, physical strength and aerial ability. However, coach Mai Duc Chung has certainly done his research and the Vietnamese women's team is capable of handling high balls. The 3-4-3 tactical formation that we are currently using can be changed to 5-4-1 for tighter defense, limiting the opponent's ability to cross and head the ball. At the same time, the Vietnamese women's team is also ready to counterattack, exploiting the weaknesses of the Australian players' lack of concentration and inexperience. If this can be done, the golden girls have a great chance of winning.

The match between the women's team of M YANMAR - Thailand is UNPREDICTABLE

At 4 p.m. the same day, the Myanmar women's team will face Thailand. The Thai women's team is in the testing phase, bringing to Vietnam a very young squad, with only 1 player born in 1995, the rest born after 2000. They played well, deserving the second place in Group A, but because they are still young, they also showed immaturity in their playing style. Meanwhile, the Myanmar women's team showed that they are worthy candidates for the championship when they defeated Australia, drew with the Philippines to convincingly win the top spot in Group B.

Coach Uki Tetsuro (Myanmar women's team) said: "Since the beginning of the tournament, we have encountered many difficulties, but the players have always shown the highest fighting spirit and efforts, so we have reached the semi-finals. For the match against Thailand, we only have 2 days to recover. Therefore, we are focusing on the players' recovery, then preparing the best for this important match."

In previous encounters, the girls from the land of the golden pagodas have had an outstanding record. The two teams have met 27 times, with the Thai women's team winning 17 matches and losing only 4. However, things could be very different this time around.
