Lai Chau Television innovation and creativity

Lai Chau Radio Station "began broadcasting" in 1977, and then in 1986, the first television broadcast was broadcast, bringing the image of the Northwest mountains and forests closer to the public nationwide, spreading the beauty and vitality of the highlands. In particular, more than two decades ago, when Lai Chau province was newly separated and established, along with common difficulties, the provincial Radio and Television Station (PT-TH) had inadequate facilities and a young team of reporters, editors, and technicians. The station's operations were based on the facilities and technical equipment of the Tam Duong District Radio and Television Station (TT-TH) of Lai Chau province (old), with outdated technical equipment and means of operation. The collective of cadres and civil servants united and creatively organized the production and broadcasting of 3 television programs and 2 general news radio programs in Mandarin/week. The programs are printed on VHF tapes, magnetic tapes, and are broadcast exclusively at district radio and television stations, regional radio and television stations, and commune clusters. The television programs are produced and broadcast entirely on Analog technology. The early television programs were simple in form and content, mainly focusing on news, propaganda of the Party and State's policies, and reflecting the unique cultural features of the locality. However, these images have become indispensable spiritual food for the people of Lai Chau, especially in remote areas where information is still limited.
The strong development of science and technology, especially digital technology, has had a profound impact on all areas of social life, including the press and media. Grasping this trend, with the support of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee, Lai Chau Radio and Television Station has boldly innovated and invested in modern technology. In September 2017, the production of SD standard television programs was converted from 4:3 to 16:9 frames; in July 2021, the production and broadcasting of SDTV standard television programs was converted to HDTV standards. The spectacular mark of Lai Chau Television industry was that on November 1, 2018, Lai Chau LTV television channel was officially put on Vinasat-1 satellite, covering Lai Chau television channel throughout Vietnam and some neighboring countries and territories of Vietnam.
Since December 2020, Lai Chau Radio and Television Station has completely switched to digital technology for all pre-production, post-production, censorship, scheduling and broadcasting processes of radio and television programs. The sound and image quality is guaranteed, contributing to updating information and improving the effectiveness of propaganda work. Lai Chau Radio and Television Station has been gradually applying artificial intelligence AI in post-production of a number of programs such as: News review, Legal Q&A, Policy information, New documents of the Party; conducting news bulletins in a virtual studio... The results of the assessment of the maturity level of digital transformation of the press in 2023, Lai Chau Radio and Television Station reached an average level; in 2024, it reached a good level.

Not only stopping at technology, the "prosperity" of Lai Chau Television is also clearly demonstrated in the innovation of content and professionalism in program production methods. News programs, reports, and special topics are constantly being renewed in terms of expression, perspective, and more in-depth content. The production of weekly television programs has ensured a closed broadcast 7 days/week, 17 hours/day/channel, and self-produced television program duration of 4.4 hours/day. News programs are increasingly profound, quick, multi-dimensional, closely following the breath of life; sharp information, orienting public opinion, refuting false and hostile arguments; firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Currently, Lai Chau Television has 102 programs and television columns in Mandarin; 7 programs and television columns in 4 ethnic languages of Thai, Mong, Dao, Ha Nhi; 8 programs, 4 ethnic languages: Thai, Mong, Dao, Ha Nhi. The programs also focus more on reflecting multi-dimensionally and objectively the hot issues of society, good people, good deeds, effective economic models, traditional cultural beauty of ethnic groups, to best meet the needs of the audience.
From the efforts of innovation and creativity, in recent years, the Provincial Radio and Television Station has also made its mark with many important press awards: Silver Prize of the National Radio Festival in 2024; Third Prize of the Political Contest to Protect the Party's Ideological Foundation; Encouragement Prize of the National Press Award on Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle) in 2024; Encouragement Prize of the National Press Award in 2023; Third Prize of the National Press Award for the Cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism Development; A Prize of the Press Award for Provinces and Cities along National Highway 6; B Prize of the National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Council (Dien Hong Award) in 2025, Third Prize of the National Award for External Information in 2024; B Prize of the National Press Award on Energy Saving and Efficiency; C Prize of the National Press Award for the Cause of Education in 2024; C Prize of the National Press Award for the Cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2024; Silver Prize at the 2025 National Television Festival, B Prize in journalism, Contest for composing and promoting literary and artistic works, journalism writing on the topic of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, phase II, 2021 - 2025...
In the context of information explosion and fierce competition from various forms of media and social networks, Lai Chau Television has constantly innovated in its approach to audiences. Currently, LTV channel is broadcast online on the website laichautv.vn; LTV channel is broadcast on IP television services including: MyTV of VNPT Group, ViettelTV of Viettel Group, FPTPay of FPT Group, NetHub of AVG Company... In particular, LTV channel is also broadcast on VTV-Go digital television platform of Vietnam Television; broadcast on AVG's digital terrestrial television system and VTVCab, SCTV cable television service systems nationwide. In addition to broadcasting Vietnamese and ethnic language channels on traditional channels, Lai Chau Radio and Television Station has selected and produced new day programs, news programs, columns, news bulletins, promotional video clips, provided and transmitted on digital platforms including: Youtube, Fanpage, Zalo, Tiktok, which have been widely received by audiences and highly appreciated for their timeliness, attractiveness, and suitability...
