With a staff of 40 officials and employees, Lai Chau Newspaper has 4 departments (Reporters, Editors, Electronics, Administration - Management) and a Printing Factory. Lai Chau Newspaper publishes 4 issues/week; Weekend Newspaper publishes every Saturday; Lai Chau Newspaper for ethnic minorities in the highlands publishes 3 issues/month. On the newspaper pages, more and more quality articles appear, with more diverse article genres. Many topics are exploited by reporters, deeply analyzed, dissected, proposed, and exchanged with many creative ideas; many articles reflect the difficulties and obstacles in the process of performing tasks at the grassroots level, fighting against corruption, waste, and social negativity, helping Party committees and authorities at all levels to propose solutions to direct the successful implementation of goals and tasks of localities and grassroots levels. In newspaper publications, specialized pages and columns are maintained with increasing diversity, many of which are of high quality, have a propaganda effect and have a great influence on social life.
Thanks to the support of digital technology , Lai Chau Electronic Newspaper has been promoting its strengths through the integration of press types such as: print newspapers, television newspapers... In particular, the internet television section published regularly every day has received a warm welcome and high appreciation from the public. The products are designed in the form of E-Magazine; infographic; the combination of content, images and videos, clips... in a press product has contributed to diversifying multimedia products, bringing the public experiences and interesting discoveries when "enjoying" a press product. In addition, Lai Chau Newspaper also develops content on social networking platforms such as: Facebook, Zalo, TikTok... contributing to expanding information coverage, especially to young people and people in remote communes who have internet access devices but do not have easy access to printed publications.

In the context of negative and false information that can spread quickly on social networks, Lai Chau Newspaper has clearly demonstrated its role in guiding public opinion, helping people distinguish right from wrong, real from fake. Regarding issues of public concern such as: site clearance, construction of civil works, land conversion, or policies related to ethnic minorities, genuine goods - fake goods, food safety... the newspaper always reflects objectively, at the same time integrating analysis, legal evidence and opinions from authorities to help readers have a correct view.
Identifying the propaganda work on streamlining the apparatus, merging agencies, organizations and building a 2-level local government as one of the important tasks, contributing to bringing new policies of the Party and State to cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the province. Over the past time, the Newspaper has constantly innovated the form of propaganda on streamlining the apparatus in an attractive, easy-to-understand and close-to-the-people way. Through a series of in-depth articles, it has clearly analyzed the causes leading to the cumbersome apparatus, the shortcomings in mechanisms and policies; at the same time, objectively reflected the difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process at the grassroots level.
In the first 6 months of 2025, Lai Chau Newspaper published and distributed 152 issues; of which Lai Chau Newspaper had 108 issues; Lai Chau Newspaper for ethnic minorities in the highlands had 18 issues, and Lai Chau Weekend Newspaper had 26 issues. Distributed 482,169 newspapers; produced 716 newspaper pages, an increase of 54 pages compared to the plan. Maintained regular activities of the Electronic Newspaper, posting over 12,000 news, articles, photos, reports, videos, and new policy documents.
The success of Lai Chau Newspaper is also demonstrated through the press awards from central to local levels, affirming the maturity in thinking, skills and professional qualities of the team of reporters and editors. This is the key factor for Lai Chau Newspaper to perform its role well in the current period.

Closely associated with people's lives
Not only transmitting one-way information, Lai Chau Newspaper increasingly attaches importance to listening, receiving and responding to readers, especially through social networking sites. The establishment of email addresses, phone numbers, and fanpages has helped create an open forum where people can express their wishes, recommendations, or reflections for the newspaper to receive and convey to the authorities. Thanks to this two-way interaction, the newspaper is increasingly closely connected to the people, while also performing well the function of monitoring and social criticism of revolutionary journalism in the new era.
One of the strengths of Lai Chau Newspaper is its closeness to the people and reality, especially with news and reports reflecting life in remote areas where many ethnic minorities live. Reporters are not afraid of hardships, crossing forests and mountains to record the voices of the people, reflecting their thoughts, aspirations as well as problems that still exist in real life. Towards building a converged newsroom
Implementing Decision No. 1789-QD/TU, dated June 3, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee on merging Lai Chau Newspaper and the Provincial Radio and Television Station into Lai Chau Newspaper directly under the Provincial Party Committee from June 20, 2025. This is an important turning point in the process of streamlining the organization of the provincial press apparatus, meeting the development requirements in the digital transformation era, and more effectively implementing the information and propaganda work of the province. The merger will integrate the strengths of operations according to the converged newsroom model, integrating many types of journalism such as: print, television, radio, electronic newspapers and social networks... to create more modern and attractive multimedia communication products. This is also an opportunity to train and foster a team of multi-talented journalists, skilled in many types of journalism to meet the increasingly high requirements in the new period.
Entering a new development stage with many opportunities and advantages, there will also be many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, Lai Chau Newspaper continues to closely follow the political tasks of the province, the propaganda orientation of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department to correctly, accurately and effectively propagate the directives and resolutions of the Party, the State's legal policies, and important political events of the country and the province to have more quality publications, going into depth, vividly, truthfully and promptly reflecting the development of the province and the country, contributing to promoting the image of Lai Chau land and people; introducing the potential, strengths and investment attraction policies of the province to readers. Continue to promote digital transformation, invest in information technology infrastructure to develop multi-platform journalism, apply AI, upgrade equipment and facilities. Continuously foster and improve political capacity, educate revolutionary ethics and professional expertise for journalists.
