Can Tho University is first in THE Impact Rankings 2025

Participating for the first time, Nam Can Tho University ranked 11th out of 16 Vietnamese universities in THE Impact Rankings 2025.

On June 21, news from Nam Can Tho University said that the school has just officially appeared in THE Impact Rankings 2025. This is a prestigious global ranking conducted by Times Higher Education (THE), aiming to assess the level of contribution of universities to the United Nations' sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Can Tho University ranked 11th out of 16 Vietnamese universities in THE Impact Rankings 2025

Although participating for the first time, Nam Can Tho University was ranked 11th out of 16 Vietnamese universities in the rankings (in the group 1,001-1,500), joining many leading universities in the country such as Hanoi National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ton Duc Thang University...

In parallel, Nam Can Tho University is also in the Top 3 in some specific goals in THE Impact Rankings (17 goals), such as goal 3 on health and happiness, goal 6 on clean water and sanitation; and top 4 in goal 17 on cooperation for sustainable development goals.

Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Rector of Nam Can Tho University, said that the fact that the university is included in THE Impact Rankings for the first time is a clear demonstration of the sustainable development strategy that the university has persistently pursued over the years. The university not only focuses on training andeducational research, but also pays special attention to responsibility to the community, environmental protection and building a humane, modern and integrated education.

Dr. Nguyen Van Quang added that in the context of the world facing many challenges such as climate change, social inequality, and resource depletion, Nam Can Tho University determined that sustainable development is not only an orientation but also a central mission. Therefore, the university is committed to making efforts to continue improving the quality of training, expanding international cooperation and actively contributing to the implementation of sustainable development goals of Vietnam and the world.
