University of Transport has a new principal

Associate Professor Nguyen Van Hung said that the school will prioritize resources for training and research on railway development and semiconductor technology.

Today, December 18, the University of Transport held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of Education and Training to recognize the principal for the 2020-2025 term.

The new principal of the University of Transport is Associate Professor Nguyen Van Hung, 51 years old, who has a PhD from the Moscow State University of Roads. Associate Professor Nguyen Van Hung's predecessor was Professor Nguyen Ngoc Long, who has just retired from management under the regime.

At the ceremony, the new principal of the University of Transport said that in the coming time, the school will implement a number of solutions suitable to the new context. In particular, the school will focus on developing a team of highly qualified lecturers, scientists , and leading experts, especially in industries and fields that are in great demand for human resources such as information technology, semiconductor technology, high-speed railways, and urban railways.

At the same time, the school will also focus resources to be the leading unit in implementing the action plan on railway development and semiconductor technology of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Government ; proactively coordinate with large corporations and groups of the country to receive, master and localize core technologies in the field of high-speed railways and urban railways.

According to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son, the University of Transport needs to prioritize a number of tasks such as training high-quality human resources and research to serve the construction of high-speed railways on the North-South axis; planning and building urban railway traffic systems...

"To perform these tasks well, the role of the principal is very important. The principal's vision and leadership capacity are key in mobilizing and connecting resources, creating a solid foundation for the school to develop sustainably," said Mr. Hoang Minh Son.
