Triumph continues to expand its product portfolio in the 400cc segment by launching the Speed T4 - a simplified version, sharing the platform with the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X. This model uses a 398.15cc DOHC single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Compared to the Speed 400, the Speed T4 is streamlined to aim for a more reasonable price. The vehicle uses a steel tube frame with a bolt-on subframe, but has cut down on some equipment.
Specifically, the front suspension is not inverted, there is no traction control and no electronic throttle system. However, the T4 still retains the standard 300mm single disc brake system at the front, 230mm at the rear and dual-channel ABS. In terms of performance, due to the reduction of the electronic system, the maximum power of the Speed T4 is reduced to 31 horsepower and 36 Nm of torque, compared to 40 horsepower and 37.5 Nm on the Speed 400.
The bike rides on 17-inch rims with smaller tires (110/70-17 front and 140/70-17 rear), which helps increase maneuverability. The bike's dimensions are also slightly different from its "brother" the Triumph Speed 400. The saddle is 806 mm high, longer than the Speed 400 with a wheelbase of 1,406 mm, and a 24.2° tilt angle for a more responsive driving feel. The vehicle weighs 180 kg, just 1 kg more than the Speed 400. In the Indian market, the starting price of the Triumph Speed T4 is only 217,000 rupees (equivalent to about 66.15 million VND).
This is a reasonable choice for those who love the Triumph brand but need a more compact, practical and economical vehicle. Video : See details of the new Triumph Speed T4 motorcycle.
