Two buses collided and caught fire, 40 people died

Two buses collided and burst into flames in Tanzania's Kilimanjaro region, killing at least 40 people and injuring more than 30 others.

India Today reported that a serious bus accident occurred in the Sabasaba area along the Moshi-Tanga road, Tanzania, on the night of June 28 (local time).

After the collision, the two buses caught fire, trapping passengers inside. Witnesses rushed to rescue the victims. The accident killed at least 40 people and injured more than 30 others.

Horrifying images from the scene of the crash show the charred remains of two buses, with shattered windows and charred metal frames, showing the ferocity of the fire.

Rescuers said many seriously injured people were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Most of the victims are believed to be Tanzanian citizens.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. However, preliminary reports suggest that the driver of a bus may have lost control after a tire punctured, leading to a head-on collision.

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has sent condolences to the families of the victims and ordered an investigation into the incident.
